Bloomberg Has Spent Staggering $18.7 Million On Re-Election Campaign So Far

Mayor Bloomberg's campaign team says he isn't trying to buy the election - but new records show he has put an $18.7million down payment on a bid to acquire a third term.

The self-made billionaire has poured $15.6 million into his campaign in the past two months, spending millions on advertising, printing, consultants, dozens of staffers, rent and office supplies.

He started a TV channel that 24 hours a day sells people on investing in the market, and has a stream of experts talking about how strong the market is. He makes money from the ads the giant banks take out, as well as all the windfall from the investments they tout, which he can ride all the way to the bank. In other words, the money comes from working chumps who bought the snake oil he sells.
