Jane Goodall wrote the forward of a book which mirrored what "larry king" asked the "collider" in the above cartoon, but she was totally serious. I have lost all respect for her because of that.

Just for the record the HADRON collider project is managed by CERN (Centre Europeen de Recherche Nucléaire) in Geneva. The circular tunnel is beneath the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva, not in Austria.
