ABC has canceled the Christina Applegate starrer "Samantha Who."
Show, which had been expected to return, got caught up in this year's belt-tightening trend at the networks. According to an insider close to the show, decision to scrap "Samantha" came down to numbers. The show couldn't slash it budget deep enough to make a third-season pickup work, they said.

Christina would be better suited in a drama show. She's a good actress and I'd like to see her.
yes ABC is insane, this is absolutely ridiculous, what are they thinking!!!! ABC you need to re think this stupid decision
What is wrong with ABC, you have a great show like Samatha Who, it is funny, light hearted, fun and then you go and cancel another great show!!!!!!!!!!!! There are sooooo many drama's and investigation shows, why get rid of a great funny show that makes people laugh especially in times like these!! I am so sorry they chose incorrectly on this one, what a waste!!!!!!

It was actually sitcom that was very funny and I'm hard to pls. Cancel the perosn who made this decision.
that was one of the only, if not the only, good show on abc. are they insane? another network should snatch it. abc made the ratings fall by moving it to thurs night.

I miss Lipstick Jungle too, ABC doesn't have much left to offer except[t for reality shows if that's your bag... Agree with previous poster, NBC has a great opportunity to pick up some of these gems...
Lipstick Jungle was on NBC, and I, too, still miss it.
I really thought the cast and the premise for Samantha Who? made the show fun to watch. I don't believe for a minute that ABC cut the show because of production costs. If the show faired better on Mondays, then ABC should have put it back in the Monday night lineup.
What a bunch of idiots. If Applegate had not had breast cancer, I believe those dolts would have tried to make Samantha Who? work.
This speaks volumes about the inane viewing habits of the American people that they couldn't muster ratings good enough to be picked up.
Proof? Two And A Half Men is still on the roster for the fall.

Charlie Sheen's pale skinny legs and his inane character make my skin crawl!!!! Perhaps he's just being himelf which makes it even more absurd.
Samantha Who is a really really good show .They bounced it around last fall with the debates and election so I hoestly wasn't sure when it was on anymore. Christina Applegate was a delight and had a stellar supporting cast. Jean S,art as her mom was brilliant casting.
I call this the Bosom Buddies Curse...every show I really love gets cancelled...maybe cable should pick it up????

Not a great show but really not bad. A little charming sometimes. Certainly better than a lot of other stuff on.
I enjoyed this show. One of the few FUNNY sitcoms left. I will miss it.
I'm a big Christina Applegate's fan, ever since "Married with Children", but this show was lame. All the other characters were either uninteresting (Todd, her dad, her high-school friend, the men she met) or obnoxious (Andrea, Frank). They missed a big opportunity to make this a funny, interesting sitcom.
I agree. As much as I wanted to like it, it just annoyed me. Just not funny, and too much over-acting.

Terrible, terrible show... they'll probably come up with something equally as bad. Like a cartoon for adults that makes fun of progressive people.... that would be stupid.
Sucks. It was fluff, but fun fluff, remarkably well written, with a talented cast, particularly Applegate's and Jean Smart's characters. Figures. Look at some of the crap we'll be left with.
This show is the only 30 minute sitcom I've ever watched on a regular basis. I thought Christina was great and the premise of the show really funny. Sad to see it go.
I believe it was an 18 minute show, excluding the commercials.
Half hour shows are actually 22 minutes and Hour long shows are 44 minutes...

I loved this show and I loved the concept of this show. Sad to hear that it is being canceled.
The only character that I did not like on this show is Samantha's female lawyer friend. The writers did a very poor storyline for this character, plus the actress portraying it did a horrible job acting.
Other than that I liked all the other characters/actors.
I agree with another poster that this show should be sandwiched between two other thriving sitcoms and make it a great night of watching t.v.
The concept of the show made me think as to what I'd wonder about in my own life, if I woke up from a coma with amnesia. Watching Sam learn about the old her and the new her is enjoyable.
