The global warming legislation will be the biggest political blunder of all time. Unfortunately it will destroy the economy and my income. Fortunately it will put the Republicans in power for the rest of time as soon as everyone's cost of living skyrockets.

China understands the importance of good PR. However, do not expect China to deliberately allow the greens to destroy jobs, unlike Obama.

China will be likely willing to commit to financially common sense actions including many many more Nuclear reactors, Hydroelectric Dams, and exporting hybred cars to America. They may also announce massive increase in transit systems for their major cities and increased intercity rails at higher speeds. They may also create home/building insulation efficiency standards (which will not be enforced) and auto fuel efficiency. Much of this they would do anyway because it makes financial sense. It will give Obama some bragging rights but will likely give up more manufacturing jobs & technology to China. I am half expecting China to announce a low carbon footprint nuclear powered super tanker that ships oil from Iran to China and doubles as an aircraft carrier (unless China decides to cultivate an unthreatening pose for a few more years).
