Jessica Biel In Allure: My Beauty "Really Is A Problem"

Jessica Biel graces the June cover of Allure magazine, and inside she talks about boyfriend Justin Timberlake, marriage, and the cons of being so hot.

Biel, 27 says she wants a career like Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman, and that she struggles to get desirable parts:

"I'm in there with everybody else, fighting for the good parts. Yes, 'The Illusionist' has made a difference -- but a huge, massive difference, so I can pick and choose what I want? No."

She continues, "I just want an opportunity. If you don't like the audition, don't hire me! But if you don't want to even see me -- that's hurtful. And why? You know nothing about me!"

So are her good looks hurting? "It really is a problem," she says. "I have to be blunt."

As for her personal life, she isn't sure about marriage. "I have no idea if I want to get married. I have a lot to do, career-wise."

And she talks about dating Timberlake. "I mean, you love who you love! It's not like you meet somebody one day and say, 'OK, I'm not going to put up with his fame!' or 'Yes, I am going to put up with his celebrity,'" she says. "You can't choose that. It just happens to you."

I don't know about too hot, but there tends to be bias in Hollywood -- if you are eye candy -- you don't get the deep roles or you don't win an Oscar.

Seriously, Jessica, you are at BEST a marginally manly looking woman. You are no great beauty, you are a lousy actress and you are so arrogant, you are unlikeable. You were wooden and terrible in the Illusionist, and I really liked everyone else in that movie.

To say that it is hurtful that people do not give you parts when you walk around telling everyone how beautiful you are is one of the most idiotic and HILARIOUS things I have ever read. There are thousands of women who are way better looking than you and have actual talent. I suspect your last couple of movies going straight to DVD rental has a lot to do with your not getting parts, not your spectacular and uncanny looks.....NOT.

The movie business is as interested in profits as any other business, and you are just not worth hiring, no matter how stunningly gorgeous you think you are.

First, no actor out there is perfect for *every* role.

Secondly, complaining that casting directors / producers don't even want to see you is a sure-fire method for getting more rejections -- after all, who wants to see a woman who complains that she can't get other parts in town?

Finally, there's nothing like bemoaning your beauty to take you several notches down the attractiveness scale. An old cosmetics commercial once had pretty girls saying, "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful." To which the comedian Brett Butler (I think) rejoined, "Darlin', there are so many *other* reasons to hate you, now."

Biel actually is very talented. "The Illusionist" showed she isn't just eye-candy or meant for action films only. She needs to do what Megan Fox is doing - get a film with Mickey Rourke - someone who will make her sink or swim up against his intensity. She can do it, I bet.
