Jessica Biel In Allure: My Beauty "Really Is A Problem"

Jessica Biel graces the June cover of Allure magazine, and inside she talks about boyfriend Justin Timberlake, marriage, and the cons of being so hot.

Biel, 27 says she wants a career like Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman, and that she struggles to get desirable parts:

"I'm in there with everybody else, fighting for the good parts. Yes, 'The Illusionist' has made a difference -- but a huge, massive difference, so I can pick and choose what I want? No."

She continues, "I just want an opportunity. If you don't like the audition, don't hire me! But if you don't want to even see me -- that's hurtful. And why? You know nothing about me!"

So are her good looks hurting? "It really is a problem," she says. "I have to be blunt."

As for her personal life, she isn't sure about marriage. "I have no idea if I want to get married. I have a lot to do, career-wise."

And she talks about dating Timberlake. "I mean, you love who you love! It's not like you meet somebody one day and say, 'OK, I'm not going to put up with his fame!' or 'Yes, I am going to put up with his celebrity,'" she says. "You can't choose that. It just happens to you."

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. However, I don't see Biel as pretty. She's not ugly but she's not pretty to me. When she was dating Jeter, people would say she had a great shape but her face!!! I don't see it.

I consider Cate Blanchett a true beauty and she hasn't let that prevent her from getting great acting offers.
But Blanchett is superbly talented, whereas Biel is not in the same class.

I think the "don't hate me because I'm beautiful" song just hits a wrong note here. Both Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johanssen are lovely (I think Natalie is the prettiest of the three, personally). Neither Natalie nor Scarlett, who are lovely, have suffered (getting bad roles or only offered bad roles) because of their beauty. Beauty gets you so far, very far in many cases, but once there, talent and skill will keep you there. Has Jennifer ever considered that perhaps, she's just not as talented?

I'm not familiar with JB but she is quite beautiful in a "looks like 99% of all of the models today" way.
If she wants to be an actress, she should do excellent independent films for arts sake and prove her acting chops. If she wants to be a star instead of an actress, she should do it within the next 3 years since 30 is about the age when they start overlooking women in hollywood.

Jessica Biel stars in "Easy Virtue" which is at the Cannes Festival. Frankly, it's a wonderful film, very Masterpiece Theater and funny as hell. It opens here this summer. And she is wonderful, simply a hoot as the 1920s American race car driver who marries into a wealthy British family that hates her from hello.

She easily holds her own with Colin Firth and Kristin Scott Thomas. In fact, she's a far better actress than Scarlett Johansson who is really just Hollywood's "Ooooomph" girl and Natalie Portman, our current, gloomy "It" girl.

Biel is the real deal.

No further than cute. She sort of looks like a fish to be more blunt. A cute fish lol....But I absolutely LOVE "The Illusionist"....One of my favorite movies, awesome script !! Biel is a lucky girl getting to kiss the handsome Ed Norton !
