Jessica Biel In Allure: My Beauty "Really Is A Problem"

Jessica Biel graces the June cover of Allure magazine, and inside she talks about boyfriend Justin Timberlake, marriage, and the cons of being so hot.

Biel, 27 says she wants a career like Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman, and that she struggles to get desirable parts:

"I'm in there with everybody else, fighting for the good parts. Yes, 'The Illusionist' has made a difference -- but a huge, massive difference, so I can pick and choose what I want? No."

She continues, "I just want an opportunity. If you don't like the audition, don't hire me! But if you don't want to even see me -- that's hurtful. And why? You know nothing about me!"

So are her good looks hurting? "It really is a problem," she says. "I have to be blunt."

As for her personal life, she isn't sure about marriage. "I have no idea if I want to get married. I have a lot to do, career-wise."

And she talks about dating Timberlake. "I mean, you love who you love! It's not like you meet somebody one day and say, 'OK, I'm not going to put up with his fame!' or 'Yes, I am going to put up with his celebrity,'" she says. "You can't choose that. It just happens to you."

I think the main problem she has is she thinks her acting work is important somehow, like she says she has so much to do in her career, oh she is so career driven and serious. Please. These people take themselves and their high paying, dumb careers way too seriously. Most of the actors around today are hacks and no one knows it, Bale being the perfect example. His "acting" in the latest Batman cracked me up throughout the entire movie, the guy just looks like he is acting all the time and his goofy American accent is just plain bad.

I actually agree with her that her looks are a problem, because she is hired for movies as eye-candy to all the guys out there. But in the same respect, she didn't go the route of Portman and Johansson early in her career. Portman and Johansson took serious roles right from the start, and never got typed-cast as a bimbo who was only getting hired because they were hot. Sure everyone does some movies that are for the masses, Portman in Star Wars, but she Biel didn't take a serious role til the Illusionist, and she is taken as seriously in Hollywood as Jessica Alba is, hot as hell, but not going to win an Oscar.

C'mon people...h­er words are being twisted out of context. She didn't sit there and say she's hot. She agreed with the reporter that looks can affect things because the reporter asked her that explosive question. She was handed a loaded question that obviously could be twisted into a horrible portrayal of her character. Some of you though....­.I'd swear there is venom in some of your veins..and that's without surgery.

No she agreed with the reporter. She agreed that her looks were a problem and she then said she would be blunt about it.

She could have suggested that her acting was a problem, but that would be too honest. Should coud have said that people don't want to pay to see her, but that would be too honest.

She picked her words. Jessica is a smart one.

She could have also pointed out the FACT that there are many, many beautiful actresses that manage to also get good roles. It's not like she's the ONLY beautiful actress out there. Gimme a break!

Well, no one could ever accuse her of a lack of self esteem. How does she explain all the work women like Halle Berry, Penelope Cruz and Charlize Theron get???? Pu-leeze. Looks-wise, Jessica Biel is not all that. She has a good figure, but her face is quite ordinary.

I believe it was her physical beauty that got her those parts in the first place. In my opinion she hasn' demonstrated fine acting in anything I have seen her in. And Scarlett and Natalie - so their beauty somehow doesn't interfere with their getting acting roles?

Right! I would say her body/looks have been the ONLY reason she has gotten ANY roles at all! She doesn't get GOOD roles because she has not proved that she has any real talent. She should be thankful she isn't waiting tables somewhere and take her whining someplace else.

Jessica, it is not your looks that are hurting you. It is the fact that you can't act your way out of a paper bag. My advice-take voice and acting lessons, and get rid of that Justin Timberlake, and date a REAL man. That might help.
