US to Expand Immigration Checks To All Local Jails

The Obama administration is expanding a program initiated by President George W. Bush aimed at checking the immigration status of virtually every person booked into local jails. In four years, the measure could result in a tenfold increase in illegal immigrants who have been convicted of crimes and identified for deportation, current and former U.S. officials said.

If you read the story, it says that the Obama administration and Congressional leaders want to crackdown on illegal immigrants who commit crimes, not those who otherwise "abide by the law". ???? Illegal is abiding by the law? And why four years. Is this another of those instances where they make a big show of something and then refuse to provide the money when push comes to shove?

I supposed all the rich there, the Masters of the Universe and the Captains of Industry, need their nannies, maids, chauffeurs, landscapers, etc. at all their residences--Manhattan, the Hamptons, Connecticut, etc.--and refuse to pay a decent wage to regular citizens who might ask for a living wage.

About time. I'm sure our jails will begin to have plenty of room. This should have been done long ago. This will work so long as they don't just concentrate on our neighbors to the south of us. It must include ALL illegal immigrants in jail.

I think it would be a good idea to get all the illegal immigrants out of our prison system. It would free up a lot of space to incarcerate the people who lure them here and hire them. Lock them up and the illegal immigrant issue is finished.

It's also the Politicians (including Arnold) and business owners who hire illegals. The DEMS hope that they will get the Latino votes when most of them don't even graduate, learn english, and use fraudulent documents to work. The money they make is sent back home to their families that they left behind.

If you are an illegal sympathizer, then come and live in any "Barrio" down here in Southern California and let's see how long you stay. I left as soon as they put a gun to my son's head while he walked to school and demanded in Spanglish that he better give them his new "Nikes".
