Hayden Panettiere's Misspelled Tattoo (PHOTOS)

So much for no regrets!

"Heroes" starlet Hayden Panettiere likes to show off the tattoo she has running down her left side, but it seems to have been misspelled.

Often visible above her dresses for the first word, the tattoo in full reads "Vivere senza rimipianti," which is meant to be "to live without regrets" in Italian.

Unfortunately for Hayden, her tattoo reads "rimipianti" instead of "rimpianti," adding an extra "i."

Just one of the many reasons you should be about 500% sure A) that you want it and B) that it's orthographically/grammatically/aesthetically/what-have-you correct *before* you go putting something quasi-permanent on your body. I had many "great ideas" for tattoos when I was a teenager that my parents forbade me from getting, and I'm damn glad they did so. Now that I'm old enough to know what I like, I have a tattoo of a lotus on my left arm just above the inside of my elbow. It is easily concealable upon the donning of a long-sleeved shirt and does not attract attention, especially in the world of publishing. In Maori and some Polynesian cultures, tattoos or "moko" are considered a mark of social prestige, and in Thailand, Theravada Buddhist monks apply tattoos thought to be magical to other monks, soldiers, "farang" or foreigners, and regular Thai people. While some in the West look down on those who have tattoos, the practice is becoming more and more mainstream, and they are starting to look more and more like George Will in his infamous "jeans are for poor people" column.

I work with a lot of asian guys. One day at work a 20-something customer came through and he had Chinese characters on his neck. My guys were all staring and going "what the ???" and trying to figure out what the tattoo kid was trying to do.

We talked it out and agreed he was trying to write "Ghost" on his neck but since there is no real Chinese word for what he wanted what he got was something like "decaying corpse."
