Larry King Jr

Larry King has gone public with a secret son -- 47-year-old Larry King, Jr. -- that he has never publicly acknowledged.

King writes about the son in his memoir, "A Remarkable Journey."

The New York Post spoke to King Wednesday about his son:

"I knew there was a Larry King Jr. out there, I'd heard that, but I didn't know he was mine. The marriage was very short and she told me if it's a boy, I'm gonna name him Larry King Jr.," King, 75, told The Post yesterday. "Then I never heard again."

Larry Jr. was born in November 1961.

WTF?

If Wikipedia is correct, LK's marriage to Annette Kaye was so short it evidently didn't bear mentioning by Wikipedia. From the NY Post article: "King, who's been married eight times to seven women..." Wikipedia lists seven marriages to six women:

Shawn Southwick (1997 – present)
Julie Alexander (1989 – 1992; div.)
Sharon Lepore (1976 – 1984; div.)
Alene Akins (1967 – 1972; 2nd div.)
Mickey Sutphin (1963 – 1967; div.)
Alene Akins (1961 – 1963; div.)
Frada Miller (1952 – 1953; annull.)

LK Jr. was born November in 1961 to Annette Kaye. Wonder what date in 1961 the elder King married Alene Akins...

Interesting comments. Funny in the "strange" way. People completely outside the situation pass judgment on other people's lives based only on surface information, and end up declaring that person deficient in many ways. I know people personally that do that, and think "Boy, when was the last time you looked behind you at the mess that is your past?" I've got a doozey of a past myself, not much to brag about, but at least acknowledging it has helped me understand that there are very few perfect people in this world, and the ones that are perfect are too self-righteous to bear. I figure, he is what he is, and if his family loves him he can't be too bad.

Maybe the ex-wife did not want to be followed by the National Enquirer and publishers wanting a tell-all-book. If she came forward earlier, she would be called a gold digger....she waits until her death bed and she's selfish...women can't win. She raised her son on her own, give her credit for that.
Larry Jr said himself that he is a better man without being raised by Larry Sr. Larry Sr was too busy trying to make it and not settled enough to have this young man in his life.

He completely contradicts himself in that quote. Did he know or not? It would appear that he did.

How did Larry King Jr. get through life without a publicly acknowledged father? For 47 years?

Is he some kind of Barack Obama or something?

Perhaps he was living in Alaska at the time.

I am a very nice lady and I would have hauled his A** to court. The a-hole fathers owe their children, mothers as well who so easily forget parental responsibilities.

Out of respect for my children, I made sure their sperm donor honored them with at least money and good health insurance. Nearly thirty years later, he wants to live vicariously through the success of our children. Shame on him... and Larry King. Love you Larry, but you were wrong.

Wealthy people quite often set up foundations in which huge amounts of money go towards paying administrative salaries of friends and family members and very little goes to actual charity. Wonder how much Larry King Jr. gets paid to run his father's foundation? How much money does the Larry King foundation give away, compared to what it takes in? And how many days a month does Larry King Jr. actually work?

While I'm not positively impressed by the fact that King did not acknowledge his son for so many years, the commentary here seems to imply that he spontaneously and individually created a child and then dumped him.

There were two parents in this scenario. Why no outrage over the mother/ex-wife who apparently never made any effort for her son to have a relationship with his father?

She is JUST as culpable as he.

NOT really!!!! He abandoned her and the child, and HE was the one with the money. I wonder how much money he paid her in alimony and support!!!!!!!

He abandoned her? How do you know she didn't leave him? How convenient that she's dead and can't offer any information. I'm not talking about money, anyway. I'm talking about the fact that it would appear that this woman didn't allow him an opportunity to have a relationship with his child--he said that he never heard from her again.

Fortunately for all involved, at least they have a relationship at this late date.

Now why would you offer this opinion when you have no knowledge of the situation???

Horse puckey. In King's words, "That's the last I heard." He did not write about a quest to find his son. He didn't "hear" anymore, and he wasn't seeking to find out more. As*hole.
