NEW YORK — Michael Moore's documentary about the economic crisis will hit theaters on Oct. 2.

The announcement was made Thursday by Overture Films and Paramount Vantage.

The film is not yet titled. Moore earlier planned to make it more broadly about America as an empire. Instead, the documentary explores the causes of the global economic meltdown. Moore has called it "the biggest swindle in American history."

The division between rich and poor is old territory for Moore, who broke through 20 years ago with "Roger & Me" _ about General Motors closing a plant in his hometown of Flint.

Moore won the Academy Award for best documentary in 2003 for "Bowling for Columbine."

What I find fascinating about this new documentary is that I heard the Moore will basically explore greed and question why enough wasn't enough for these people? Why did they have to have bigger and bigger profits until they finally destroyed the American financial market. I think that's a question I would very much like to have answered. Why is enough never enough for these bastards?

"I look forward to this new documentary. All of Moore's previous work has been enlightening, and delivered with sincerity, and amazingly, with humor. I hope this latest opus makes the mechanics of the economic collapse more understandable for the lay man -- in much the way that Fahrenheit 911, Bowling for Columbine, SiCKO, and Roger & Me brought home their issues and made accessible an understanding of the whys, wherefores, and related or concurrent events."

Are you kidding? What he produces and distributes actually has credibility with you?

Let me ask you this. If Michael Moore is right, then why didn't Ted Kennedy go to Cuba for treatment for his cancer? This is a serious question. Please answer unless you are a spineless liberal!

Ted Kenneday being a member of congress has medicare so he already gets what Cuba, the UK, Canada, France, Germany and many other first world countries offer all their citizens.

Congress members and their families get lifetime taxpayer paid healthcare that is the equal of what people on medicaid, medicare get.

Also Moore never said Cuba ranked higher. Just that the US spending the most money on the planet for healthcare for it's citizens ranks a few spots higher then a country with a blockade for decades with low supplies. You would think if we spent the most money not only private money but taxpayer money since emergency room visits are a taxpayer funded activity that we would be number one nut number 35.

That's your argument?

Rich, insurance Ted Kennedy didn't waste his time and money going Cuba, therefor Cuba bad.

Why would he?

Explain that.

You have flawed logic. Ted Kennedy is from one of the richest families in the nation, and a Senator on top of that. He's got all the coverage he needs. And if that's all you've got in the face of the proven facts displayed in all of Michael Moore's movies, then sit down and be quiet. You don't have a case.

I can't wait to see Mike's take on the economic meltdown. He's usually right on target. During the 2004 campaign (and for some time after the election) he said repeatedly and urgently: "We have to get Bush out of there. We have to get rid of him-you have no idea of the damage he is going to do if he isn't stopped."
Everyone knows what happened next.

Call it "Thinkology". (Credit to Prof.. Harold Hill) The whole world climbed aboard a money merry-go-round and forgot that the ride always stops. Carnival con men now wear grey suits, tell us that they are the smartest guys in the room and have something to show you behind the curtain. Then they mug you and take your money. The bad news is they are sitting up again featuring all new acts.

Call it Daylight Robbery w/ a government assist.

And has anyone heard anything about any new regulatory legislation yet? Me neither--------

Don't forget who owns the Congress.

The best legislation that could aid in our governance would be an overhaul of campaign finance reform. Without it, nothing else will make the necessary changes.

Didn't everyone lean that Moore is a bag of hot air? We need to hear more of his l.ie.s?

So, there isn't a healthcare crisis, Egyptians and Saudis disintegrated concrete and steel buildings into dust with diesel fuel and we have no problem in America with weapons. The only hot air here seems to be just above this post...

I've suggested further down that critics should post one single fact where Moore was wrong in his documentaries. So far nobody has come forward. We don't need "hot air statements" or links to pamphlets about how bad or how rich he is, we only need one fact.

This is where the Moore bashers always have to stop. If they can't succeed in changing the subject, they'll revert to calling him fat, or some other irrelevant ad hominem attack. His films are probably the best researched of any ever made. If not, he would have long ago been sued for libel into bankruptcy and obscurity by the subjects of the films. This has not happened. In fact, he challenges anyone to try it.

The weaklings always go on an attack, hoping the "weak Liberals" will shy away. The troIIs are routinely spanked like the little brats they actually are now, however. One could almost assume that they enjoy it, in some sick way.

The right uses the profoundly damaged to do troII work because nobody else will take the job.

I am very interested to hear Michael Moore's perspective on the crisis but most importantly any recommendations he can provide to solve it and prevent it from happening again.

I suspect the financial system is beyond repair, though I'm also interested in his take on the problem. It would really behoove us to consider alternatives to our banking and regulatory "system" not designed by bankers and lobbyists.

I can tell when my car isn't running right, I can tell when my refrigerator isn't cooling efficiently, I can tell when my lawnmower isn't cutting precisely...
So am I not allowed to make note of those facts simply because *I* can't FIX them myself?
Of course I am.
I can HIRE people to fix them because I can't do it myself.
Well, We "hire" politicians (congressmen, senators, presidents, etc) who then hire subcontractors (consulting experts) to fix things.
