BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- An American man was found bound, blind-folded and fatally sta-bbed in a car in Iraq's heavily fortified Green Zone, Iraqi security forces said Saturday.
Iraqi officials and the U.S. military were investigating the kil-ling in the heavily protected district of Baghdad, formally known as the International Zone. It houses Iraqi government offices and the U.S. Embassy.
The victim's th-roat apparently had been slit and he was sta-bbed multiple times, Iraqi security forces said. The man was found in a sport utility vehicle Friday. His hands were tied behind his back.

Friendly fire ??
From the article: "The U.S. official said a preliminary investigation suggests the killing might have been a crime of passion.
"Our suspicion is that it was some kind of an argument that went bad," the official said."
Crime of passion indeed! The overwhelming preponderance of Iraqis who are not yet displaced or dead are passionately opposed to our occupation, and would passionately like us to leave their country. And the "argument that went bad" actually went bad more than 6 years ago, but the United States still hasn't gotten the message.
One more time: We had no right to invade. We have no business remaining. And as long as we're there, we'll continue to be targets of one faction or another. So we should leave.
ASAP
Interesting how the guys who were responsible for security in the Green Zone while Bush was in power have suddenly lost the capacity to protect the area now that Obama is the POTUS. Unless these incidents were happening while Bush ws in office but we never heard about it.
I don't mean to come off like a tin-foil-hat-wearing conspiration-theorist, but as more and more of what Bush and Cheney have done come to light, I fear anything is possible.
American military are not safe on the streets anywhere in Iraq. And , the surge is working, yeah right.
Oh, BTW, Americans are not even safe INSIDE the Green Zone. Sorry I almost forgot that little detail.
Since I cannot anywhere to honor our military...I guess here is as good as any...but I'll keep looking.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself". - John Stuart Mill ~ (1868)
~~~~ Thank you for being willing to fight for me, my family, and my country...God Bless you all.
" Thank you for being willing to fight for me, my family, and my country.."
While it probably goes without saying that our men and women in uniform ARE willing to fight for you, your family and your country, that's NOT what they are fighting for. They are fighting and dying for very limited "special interests" that do not even dovetail with the greater interests of this country anymore ... if they ever did. In this case, the poignant quote by John Stuart Mill applies not to our own fighting forces, but to the Iraqis themselves. And our casualties in the Green Zone, and indeed throughout Iraq, are indicative of the fact that the Iraqis agree with Mr. Mill.
The Iraqis have found something worth warring over - and at least part of what they've found is our occupation.
Aren't we home yet? Obama end this Bush mess and bring them home. Well, I guess there's no end to Bush mess in sight, but bring em home anyway.
Bring em all home. We can not afford to spend money in Iraq and Afghnistan while Obama's auto task force is deliberately dismanteling our manufacturing base.
Dennis Kuchinich on CSPAN made it clear the auto task force is doing major damage to our economy.
