Obama's 'Dorky Dad' Look: A Fashion Don't? (SLIDESHOW, POLL)

As Barack Obama gets more comfortable with his new gig, so do his clothes. Every so often the president departs from his standard suit-and-tie look, and dons faded jeans, white sneakers, an athletic jacket, and maybe a backwards hat or bicycle helmet.

As Michelle Obama told "Access Hollywood" last July: "I think it's funny that he's involved in this fashion icon stuff because these pants," she says, "he's had for probably ten years... and don't pan down to the shoes because we talked about getting new shoes." (Check out the holey shoes Obama wears.)

And the president-elect concurs: "I'm baffled by this whole thing myself because I hate to shop."

So it's no surprise that his casual clothes resemble those of a somewhat dorky, but entirely endearing dad. Do you think they could use some improvement? Chime in below.

President Obama looks just fine as a Dad and as a President.

I'm a Dorky Dad, so I thank Obama for bringing us some respect. Gotta give it to him for not succumbing to the pressures of celebrity and changing his look. It takes a brave man to stick with his principles and don those khakis when he wants to.

The POTUS looks like a normal person who enjoy being comfortable in what he wears and doesn't care about what others think of his look. Actually he looks good in anything he wears.

He may have the "dorky day" look with his dress down threads, but he is a "substantive president" on the issues that affect us all. He has passed 11 bills so far, and he's just getting started. Where it counts, he rises to the occasion.

He can be the "dorky dad" he wants to be as long as he continues to be the "substantive leader" we need him to be.
