Seriously, did anyone think the voting was done right?
I know I only watched A.I. because of Adam. Gokey was my second fave, but Kris Allen was not a great performer and he wasn't that "wow" of a singer either. When we sat down to watch who would win, we were actually convinced it would be Adam so it was a total shock to the system when Kris was crowned the winner.
I immediately said: this isn't right, and everyone in our group agreed.
Still, I'm sure Adam's gotten a contract and we'll see who was the REAL America Idol winner. I mean, you can only sell so many CDs in Arkansas...
Remember Daughtry came in second and didn't win AI, but look at him now. He's all over the satellite radio dial. He has a second album out and the first one earned him loads of money.
I stopped watching American Idol a couple years ago when I realized it was more of a popularity contest than a talent competition, and that it's basically rigged anyway. Producers decide early on who they want to do well, and they promote those singers. If you pay attention when you watch the auditions (the ones they show on television anyway), you can almost predict the final 4 or 5 singers just by how much face time they get and how much time is dedicated to their back-story.
Many of us were aware of those obvious facts but keep watching because such a good deal of it is really very entertaining! The hippie girl with the tatt arms this year and Alyson from my old neighborhood were worth the watch.
Allison was amazing. I was hoping she'd be in the final 2 with Adam

More news designed to inflame rather than inform. How many votes may have been affected, would it have affect on the outcome? Probably not, that's why the conveniently did not mention it.

The Presidential elections are or have been rigged, why would ANYone be surprised that this Idol thing is rigged? The show is extremely lame anyhow.

I listen to Ring Of Fire repeatedly on You Tube.. I have not even finish a full song by Kris.. He is just ok.. Adam will be the one who gets my money as soon as he releases a c.d.... And I have never spent money on anyone from A.I.....
What Edward Wyatt and others fail to see, is that Kris Allen has sex appeal to women of all ages, in contrast with Lambert. So of course, they dont get it. They have to find some reason why the big guy didnt win. After all, Simon Cowell promoted him endlessly.
AT &T would have no motive for cheating in Allen's favor. If a "few local employees" knew how to send multiple text messages in Arkansas, a few local employees in every other state, including California had the same opportunity on behalf of Lambert.
Bottom line - this is just another example of the pettiness of the media to create controversy to get readers courtesy of Edward Wyatt.
And why isnt there outrage towards Simon Cowell on behalf of Danny Gokey and Allison Iraheta and Anoop Desai? Simon was going on talk shows promoting Lambert and that was really unfair to all the contestants, not just Kris Allen. This got Lambert on magazine covers and wide media coverage for American Idol early in the competition influencing Americans in Lambert's favor. Why wasnt Wyatt crying foul then?
Kris Allen demonstrated more creativity and versatility in song arrangement; musicianship playing both piano and guitar; a sweet, likeable personality and appealing voice and looks. He deserves the title, American Idol

The vast majority of people don't care about sexual preferences of artists, especially the demographic of American Idol votes. The reality is that the majority of people prefer their music on the 'mellow' side. Look at the popularity of country music, artists like Norah Jones, Coldplay etc. Edgier performers may get better reviews but in the end of the day most people prefer smooth, melodic stuff .. like Kris.
Get real! The voting was "fixed" by Fix TV, period!
