"As many couples do, we are navigating a very difficult time," the couple said in a statement. "Our current situation brings us together around the children and some times sets us apart. We keep our faith that we will make the right decisions for our family."

Paul Petersen, we need you on this one. Has anyone imagined what a significant emotional impact this must be having on these children, especially the older ones? Just picture these kids going to school and getting ridiculed for the crying fit that was broadcasted all over America the night before (and we know how cruel kids can be). Its only a matter of time before these children begin repressing all of their emotions, for fear of the backlash that they will suffer. You don't have to be a psycho analyst to figure out that it will not take long before we see serious emotional problems in these poor innocent victims.

I wish nothing but the best for this family. What a hard thing for them all to be going through. I also hope that Kate's family will allow them to make the decisions for their children and themselves with out going on tv and bloging trying to tear this young family apart. Jon and Kate at this time in their lives as anyone would need the love and support of their friends and family right now. I hope her brother and his wife will see the mistakes they made and stop doing so much damage to these people.

I only watched the show twice and I didn't see her as cruel. As a mom I kind of liked her. she definitely is in control...I think its wrong for TLC NOT to show the help she gets though.

Kate's a nurse by training. Does she ever consider the fact that maybe Jon's "behavior" is a sign of depression? She said that he used to be the one who interacted well with the "fans" and now he doesn't like to. Is she so self-centered (yes) that she has never considered the possibility that there could be a reason for Jon's recent change in personality? She is thick as a brick. The woman has no compassion that I've seen. Used to enjoy the show...last night was the end. Don't care to watch anymore.

Are they selfless enough to realize that a divorce is NEVER, except in abusive situation, the right decision for children? Or are they going to rationalize it and hem and haw tand then try to "make it as easy on the kids as possible", as though it could ever be easy on any kid?
