Leno's Best Bloopers Of The Past 17 Years (VIDEO)

Leno Blooper

Jay Leno has been the host of the "Tonight Show" since 1992 and over the past two decades he and his team have accrued some pretty embarrassing moments. Leno's producers compiled and aired them last night as part of his last week as host of the program.

As of June 1, Conan O'Brien will headline the "Tonight Show," and starting in the fall, Leno will take the 10p slot on NBC.

Leno is getting sentimental in these final days, rolling out compilation after compilation to toast his time as host, including the show's best celebrity correspondent moments and his best moments with Mel Gibson.

Luckily, the sentiment isn't as sugary as it is hilarious. The following video offers a surprising number of fires, dips in kiddie pools, and other slips and pranks that leave Leno laughing in embarrassment.

i never did get into leno. though he seems like a nice enough guy. i've always prefered letterman cause he's got more of an edge to him.

I'm thoroughly convinced Leno's ratings lead over Letterman all those years had nothing whatsoever to do with talent. It was all about "dork superiority" There are far more uncool dorks in this country than people who get it. If you prefer Leno to Letterman, it says nothing about them, but everything about you.

Your either Leno or Letterman. I'm Letterman myself. He says it like it is. Leno is a suck up.

Leno's entire career was just one great big blooper.

He had the biggest "blooper" sitting right next to him while that reel played.

When Dane Cook is featured in the 'best of' clips you know something is very wrong.

Who left the cellar door open? All the creepy republican wackos descended on this link like it was a limbaugh strip dance. Back, you miscreants, back to the dark cellar where you belong. We'll send some cold fish up for your weekly feasting.

Funny stuff. Carson has been gone a long time now. Leno's good, but, I'll always remember the Tonight Show as Carson's show. Let's see what Conan can do next.

Conan is going to run it now? OMG. The only person I could think that is lamer than Jay Leno is Conan.

Good night Tonight Show.

I remember the Tonight Show as the Steve Allen show. It was the best!

You've got it--everyone has lifted Steve Allen's schtick.
His serious readings of inane rock lyrics, his reading angry letters to the editor in the tone the writer intended, his cast (Don Knotts, Louie Nye, etc), his use of made up words to escape the then-powerful censors (Schmock!) were priceless. He and Sid Caesar were the masters--no one has come close since. (yeah, I know I'm getting old!)

Compared to the Best of Carson reel, this is pathetic!
