Apparently one can make coffee or something that tastes like it from offal .
Who says America no longer is a leader in science?
Not this proud American!
Please, save us. If ever there was a company that I wish would go out of business, it is McDonald's.
NO WAY. I've tried McD's specialty coffees on two separate occasions, and could only force two sips both times before throwing them away. AWFUL! HEINOUS! Their specialty coffees taste like strong chemicals! The worst taste I think I've ever encountered.
Mc's will do well as they have good sites, but they tend to get the passing trade of people in a rush to be somewhere. Independent coffee shops and cafes will still be the place you arrange to meet friends, go for lunch with co-workers ect. or just the place to go for a more quality product, there is room in the market for both.
Mcdonalds is a example of a brilliantly ran business. The Macro Economics, and Economies of scale are suburb.Starbucks is a decent company .Whatever happens we know the competition supplies consumers with the best product,at the cheapest price..........Go Capitalism
That would be "brilliantly run", not "brilliantly ran", among other distracting errors in your post. Go to school much???
When in Europe, why in gawds name would you want to eat at a McDs? As for Starbucks, I like them here in the US (but like Panera better for many reasons), but you're in Europe, so try the Euro chains instead, namely Pret A Manger and Caffe Nero.
Comments on coffee quality aside, our local McDonald's has been doing some renovation. They took out a bunch of booths and installed coffee shop style tables. They also took out the kiddie-habitrail playground. When they did so, I said to my wife "You know, I'll bet they are taking a run at Starbucks." Maybe they have figured out that the kids aren't actually the ones who have the money. Whatever the motivation, I find the move interesting.
If their lattes are like their shakes, I think the main ingredient is phlegm.
Mmmm, Shamrock Shakes! ;-)
Being the biggest coffee chain in Europe is as meaningful as being America's biggest independent café.
I know people like to take shots at the quality of Starbucks coffee, and that's fine. But having had an ice latte once at McDonalds, it was absolutely disgusting. I'll take the pricier but palatable SBUX coffee any day (unless I'm trying to induce vomiting).
I once got a latte at Dunkin Donuts that had NO coffee (espresso) in it.
Did you drink the latte in your shed?
