Todd Palin Offered Bristol A Car To Dump Levi

The full GQ profile of Levi Johnston is now online. The whole article is pretty interesting, especially if you're into bear hunting. But the most revealing passages from the subject himself come at the end, where he discusses his breakup with Bristol Palin.

Just going over there makes me pretty damn uncomfortable. I would call and say, "Can I pick him up?" It was, "No, you can't have him, but you can come see him." Just going over there, and Todd and Sarah sitting there staring at me, doesn't do it for me. Todd never says anything, really. Sarah, I don't know. She's a politician. She knows how to throw in a fake smile and look happy. They're pretty good at that.

Everybody was kind of like, we didn't talk as much anymore, you know, and we just kind of like drifted apart, as far as me and Sarah and Todd. Then me and Bristol just started fighting more and more. I thought it was, like, 'cause she was pregnant, she was moody and that kind of thing. So I was dealing with it and stuff. But it didn't stop after she had Tripp. Things got worse. So I was like, "All right."

As to whether he wanted to get back together with Bristol, Levi said "That's just not even in my mind ... There's lots of pretty girls." But when asked whether it bothered him that he "changed your whole life for this future and now they've shut you out," the young father simply said, "Yes."

In an yet-to-be released interview with GQ, Levi Johnston, the ex-boyfriend of teen mom Bristol Palin (and father to her son, Tripp) reveals even more details about the dynamics of his relationship with Bristol and her family.

Johnston told GQ that Todd Palin, on multiple occasions, offered to buy his daughter a car if she would break up him.

Since their split in March the two have separately given numerous media interviews, in which various divides have emerged. Johnston has declared that abstinence is unrealistic and been fairly frank in discussing the couple's love life. His family has also gone public with complaints that the Palins do not allow them enough contact with the baby. Bristol, on the other hand, after initially questioning abstinence has become an ardent campaigner for the cause but reluctant to discuss her own romantic past.

According to New York Magazine, who snagged a preview of the article, Johnston said he has no plans to get back together with Bristol.

I usually enjoy the articles on HP, but can we give this topic a break?

For Heaven's sake, these are two young teens who made a big mistake. Give them time to grow up and move on in privacy.

Just because the Governor continues to push back on the comments this young man makes, it does not mean that the media has to cover his comments or stoop as low as the Governor does in responding to the ramblings of this young immature man.

There are enough serious issues out there that should be demanding our attention.

I think that Levi Johnston is a decent, but very young, naive boy who wanted to do the right thing, however high the odds of success of any marriage would have been.
But, they are both kids, screwed up kids, who would have been much better off had they been schooled by their parents on the use of reliable birth control.
Now, here they are, having made their second decision to keep the baby and realizing that it's not as easy as it may have seemed. A lifetime of responsibility taken on as an ignorant teenager doesn't get easier as time goes on. It's gets more and more difficult.

Funny, the Palins have a national platform to trash this poor boy and you take your venom out on him-- "ramblings of this young immature man" but Sarah Palin only "pushes back". How about the Palins stop publically trashing him or involving him in their national discourse on "abstinency" or including him as a topic in speeches? They continue to grope for the limelight at his expense--they seem to have used every trick in the book to keep this man from his son. period.

I think the biggest hypocrisy I have ever seen was the picture of Bristol holding her baby dressed in a graduation gown. The message she was giving young girls everywhere was that you can have it all, a baby and graduate from college.

I find her on the cover of People with her cap and gown and baby very laughable and also total hypocrisy. If the young woman was hispanic or black and on the cover it would have been like who cares she is lucky she was able to do it but it's Bristol on the cover and it is major interest to mainstream middle America. Truth is, ediva75, the media rarely will put hispanics/blacks/asians at forefront in TV or media because these groups are typcally not considered valuable enough in terms of raking in big bucks.

Here's the hierarchy in order of importance and juman worth in western society: white males, white females, black/hispanic/asian males, black/hispanic/asian females.

The cover was obviously done with her cap and gown so that the country would realize that she actaully graduated from High School. During the campaign, it seemed like she and Levi were both dropping out and wouldn't finish. I thought the picture was fine.
