So much for an advanced civilization. The people committing these atrocities had mothers and fathers etc. How could Americans have sunk to such level of depravity? The US is single handedly responsible for this breed of feral perverted subspecies we have foisted on the people of the ME.

Still there is allot that this country has and is still doing to what they want where ever they want too in order to obtain information. There is no limit too there boundless interests, Sure we can speak out and make claims about what is going on with detainees treatment that are connected to war activity that are not inside this country. But look into what is already here at our doorsteps in the country, much worse in my opinion. Im not just talking about the interests of people of power.

sarcastic about what? the fact that i agree with BO when detaining people, who want to kiII us, indefinately?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How the heII do YOU know they want to kiII us? They've had no trial. Nothing has been proven. Most were just rounded up in another country and brought here with no real evidence of any crime.

If another country invaded the U.S. and you just happened to be in the neighborhood were there was fighting and then the invader captured you, took you to their country, imprisoned you without a trial, tor.tured you, and then decided never to let you go or give you a fair trial, you'd be fine with THAT?

You'd think that's OK?

Because THAT'S what happened.

Militarily we had NO business capturing people and ferr.eting them around the world to be tor.tured (extraordinary ren.dition) and keeping them imprisoned indefinitely without a trial - all the while - subjecting them to inhumane treatment. This is morally reprehensible. Anybody that thinks this is acceptable is truly a victim of propa.ganda. Americans who condone this (under Obama or anyone else) si.cken me.

Oh please no. Not Dub-yah too. It's bad enough with deferring Dick on my TV each day.

Wouldn't keeping quiet be better for his "legacy" that continuing to lie, when everybody knows he's lying. You'd think he and Chaney would want the issue to disappear.

Irrelevant but NOT going to escape answering for their lawlessness. BTW, this Country can't move past their crimes and hold our heads high ever again if we don't put out the effort to show the world that NO we don't torture and we won't tolerate anyone dong so in our name regardless of how high up in Government they are.

From Carl Levin:

Levin’s comments are highly newsworthy because they give us the most detailed picture yet of what’s in the documents Cheney wants. You can watch Levin’s speech right here at TPM. This is what Levin said about the documents:

Mr. Cheney has also claimed that the release of classified documents would prove his view that the techniques worked. But those classified documents say nothing about numbers of lives saved, nor do the documents connect acquisition of valuable intelligence to the use of the abusive techniques. I hope that the documents are declassified so that people can judge for themselves what is fact and what is fiction.

Torture is illegal, a war crime. Cheney and others in the US government must answer to the rule of law. What is it about the rule of law that people either want to deny or do not understand?

"Obama must enforce our Federal Torture Law. "

Slight correction... the Dept of Justice must enforce our Federal Torture Law. President Obama has repeatedly stated that is their job and he is willing to let them move forward when they are ready to do so. For the President to jump in and demand action on this from the DoJ would put his actions on a par with gwb's in that he would be attempting to direct a Branch of government that is not his to direct.
