Gillette: Genital Shaving Video

In its latest ad campaign, Gillette's reaching out to a new market: aspiring body shavers. AdAge passes along Gillette's "How To Shave Your Groin" YouTube spot. The title pretty much says it all. (We'll spare you the details -- like the need to use "short, light strokes," for example). Check out the full video below:

Personally I find it disappointing to find that a man has overgroomed himself down there. I like men after puberty for a reason, pubic hair being one of them. A little trimming is fine, but shaving just seems self-obsessed.

Clean is IN. I personally can't take having to plow through a half-mile of undergrowth to get to a woman's cave of happy love!!! And women shouldn't have to deal with that either. I usually just use duct tape to remove hair. Sure it stings for about a month, but it's SMOOOOOTH. =)

For the first timers, use aftershave or similar alcohol based. Lotion will make the razor burn worse. At least for me it did. It'll hurt like hell - picture Home Alone. Also, go easy around the bottom side of the...ahhe­m.. tree. Thats where the shadow is the most painful as your tree will rub against thorny bushes on your sack. Your best bet is to borrow someone elses electric ;)

Actually, as a woman, the thought of man NOT shaving, makes me want to puke. Its a well-known fact that a shaved pubic area minimises the spread of STDs. (Bacteria and germs thrive in moist, dark places.)

A hairy crotch on a man is disgusting. So are hairy armpits. Its double disgusting on a woman. Yuck! This is the 21st century. We have the technology NOT to live like our caveman ancestors.­..

This has got to be the most ignorant comment I've read in a while... "shaved pubic area minimizes the spread of STD's"... where did you get THAT idea... I'm a recently semi-retired physician and that's something my copies of JAMA, NEJM, the Obstet Gynecol, etc. never published.

If you have certain preferences (as infantile as they may seem to some of us), just say that's what YOU PREFER, don't try to justify it with bunk science...
