Gillette: Genital Shaving Video

In its latest ad campaign, Gillette's reaching out to a new market: aspiring body shavers. AdAge passes along Gillette's "How To Shave Your Groin" YouTube spot. The title pretty much says it all. (We'll spare you the details -- like the need to use "short, light strokes," for example). Check out the full video below:

Gee, can you even get a safety razor anymore? Does anyone under thirty even know that the picture is a safety razor? And where is the blade!
But I have to say the ad was pretty good. At least they didn't say to use scissors!

Not only can you still get them all over the internet, but I know several 20-something men who use them because the blades are 10 cents, instead of $1.50 or more, and they last just as long. Safety razors will also give a closer shave.

I'm with you on how long blades last. My last "injector" razor stayed sharper a LOT longer than the new cartridge style. Well, at least in my memory they did....

It seems to me the mfr's work desperately hard to see who can make a blade that goes dull the fastest.

They also....I believe...­.include "premium" blades in the "introductory offer packages --- a new razor including 3 replacement blades" --- to try and get you to switch. They always seem to be sharper.

The very worst 'blades seem to be the "Bic" style disposables. Hell they come from the factory too dull to use.

So instead of buying blades I keep buying the kits, on sale.

Geez. I bought some Gilette Mach III blades today and my a$$ is sore (no I didn't shave it). They wanted $40 for 20 blades at COSTCO! Perhaps I'll grow a beard back.
