As much as you'd like Obama to try to stop you from running so you could make a big political stink about it, he wont' and no one cares. How about you try making political points by having something of substance to say rather than trying to garner political hay on someone elses field. You know the new guy on MSNBC- Ed- interviewed one of the other PA Representatives. It looks like all the Democrats holding office in PA are firmly supporting Specter.

He did say one thing I thought was a valid point: if Sestak goes after Specter's Senate seat, he leaves his Representative seat wide open for a Republican.

I just can't see handing Specter the seat if he is not going to support Health Care Reform or the Employee Free Choice Act. I think that is the minimum he can do, if he wants Democratic support.

Rep. Joe Sestak will be a much better Democratic Senator than Specter will. Specter only became a Dem because he was worried he would loose his primary. He is a fake. Obama needs to back off and let the Pennsylvanians decide this one.

From what I can see, Sestak doesn't appear to be much of a Democrat NOW. If you look up the legislation he introduced in the last Congressional Session, almost none of it has any co-sponsors. If he were acting in the party's interest, more Democratic Congress members would be trying to co-sponsor his bills. At this point, neither Sestak, nor Specter, appear to be assisting the Democratic Party in its goals and objectives. Hopefully, the voters will assess the votes of each prospective Senate nominee and pick the candidate who will assist Obama in passing legislation that the majority of both houses agree to.

I agree, Sestak is not the Democrat that will make me vote against Arlen Specter. He seems like an opportunist as well, but Specter is the evil I know. I believe he will support both health care and the EFCA. Also, Specter and Casey (D-PA) have a good working relationship. I would want to know where Senator Casey stands on this issue.

You are trying to make yourself a news item. But I don't believe the President would even consider asking you not to run since you have expressed a desire to do so. I think he might have some thoughts about you, though. So, anyway, run, baby run, but try to remember it is Specter you are running agains. Obama isn't trying to be a Senator.

He's a candidate and he is campaigning. President Obama and--oh my gosh--quite a few other politicians campaigned when they were a candidate for office.

If Obama campaigns for Specter, Sestak will be running against Obama, too. I don't think Obama will campaign for Specter now that there is a real Democrat who plans to run for the position.

I don't think President Obama would risk dividing the party like that, especially since there are quite a few core Dems and Obama supporters who are not happy with Obama's bait-and-switch routine he pulled by promising one thing during the campaign and delivering another once in office.
