Adam Lambert

'American Idol' runner-up Adam Lambert is not only openly gay, he is planning a Rolling Stone cover to confirm it after months of speculation, reports the NY Post.

'Idol' judge Kara DioGuardi is on a pretaped 'View' airing Friday, and during her sit-down she says he is out.

"I don't think that Adam was ever in [the closet]," she tells the ladies. "I think he was always openly out."

Meanwhile, Friday's NY Post reports he will be on the cover of next week's Rolling Stone.

"AMERICAN Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert has steadfastly refused to talk about his sexuality despite photos of him on his Web site tongue-kissing men and dressed in full drag -- but not for much longer. A well-placed magazine source tells Page Six that Lambert will be coming out officially on the next cover of Rolling Stone.

Neither Rolling Stone or Lambert's rep confirmed the cover news when called by the paper.

Why do gays have to have a coming out party? Clay Aiken did the same thing. So fricking what if Adam is gay. Who cares. His fans will still be fans after the Rolling Stone article.

Every straight wedding is a coming out party.. It is an announcement of heterosexuality.

Why are heterosexuals allowed social rituals but not homosexuals ?

another guy who wants the world to know what he does in his bedroom, and then will later complain that people don't like him because of it.

Um, he's not the one who started the whole thing...it's the freakish media and even people like you, durak with a Reagan graphic, who blow the whole thing up.

He didn't start it. How long is he entitled to continue this longstanding tradition?

I'd also avoid "Pride Parades" - they do far worse for "the community" than even its most fervent supporters can be bothered to realize...

I came of age in the 70s so I'm no prude (believe me), but I really don't want to endure "in your face" games of tonsil hockey. This is not a statement on homosexuals; I feel that way about everyone. I'm not talking about entertainment venues, where I can simply switch channels or choose not to watch; I'm referring to people who decide they want to make out right in front of me in a public place. I never hesitate to tell them, "Get a room." There's a time and place for everything. I don't know how many times I've been grossed out by the loud, slurping sounds coming from couples at public events, seated directly in front of me. Yuk. And, yes, I change seats when possible. Discretion is a lost art.
If you're somewhere private, slurp away. :)
I'm a huge fan of Adam. I just needed to vent.

I agree. I'm a semi-huge fan of Adam. I love his style and think he is so handsome. But, I'm a prude from way back and don't mind saying so, and I have no desire to imagine people and their sex lives. I find it somewhat revolting. Shadow? Repression? I claim it all.

I respect people and want them to find happiness wherever they feel like it, people must have equal rights, but please, what you do with your genitals? Keep it to yourself.

Looking forward to the day when no one has the need to make announcements, where it's common to find love where one chooses and no one really even speculates about people's relationships. It seems so archaic to my way of thinking. Seriously, who really cares?

As I said above, Biolante, you are the one imaging what people do sexually. Knowing someone is gay doesn't tell you what they do with their genitals. There is as much variation with gay sexuality as with straight, and knowing someone has a relationship with someone of the same sex where most of the time is spent paying bills, watching television, walking the dogs, talking about work and cooking doesn't mean you need to go right to the sex part in your mind. Unless, of course, one is obsessed.

Adam Lambert would not be having to address this issue if the Christian heterosexuals were not so obsessed with it. He has tried to focus on talent and singing, but the American prudes need to know.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:16 AM on 05/30/2009

I agree with your statement. I only wish Adam would have been more discreet, just as I wish everyone would be. I focused on his talent. I just wish he had not left a video trail that only served to inflame the haters and distract from his wonderful talent.
The so-called Christian-Right think they have won, when if fact they have further proved their true colors. Whatever color hate is...I'm seeing red right now, but there is a blackness in there too. Perhaps with a hue of putrid yellow.

Try Islamic prudes. Of course, unlike the Christians, they're more inclined to kill - or at least hand out some nifty death threats. I've been on the receiving side of those once... it's great fun.

In short, stop the Christian bashing.

Same here. Discretion is a lost art and many people, gay or straight or anything else often fondle and feel in so many public places.

They shouldn't care if people stare. And people will stare for one of three reasons:

* Voyeurism
* Disgust
* Analytic curiosity (why some people do what most don't)

Common courtesies came about because of voyeurism and disgust. It's high time people start practicing such basics again, or stop bleating when they say they feel they have a right to feel in public.

IMHO, of course.

Concerned Angry Christian:
"Why are gays always ramming their gayness down or throats?!?!"

Answer:
Because that's bar you always sneak out too on Friday night.

Hmmm? Are you one of 'those' Christians who also feel that water boarding is not torture? What would Jesus say or do? Not write this drivel you've posted. 'Ramming their gayness down your throats?' Very poor choice of words from you but it speaks volumes about your obsession with things gay. Try working on Rampant ADULTERY!

What is that, porno for homos? The best part is they won't be procreating if they'd only stick to the decisions to be homos that is.

First of all, when are we as a society going to snap out of this we-gotta-know phase- why can't people just be good at whatever they do in life and get on with it without all the lurid speculation. Or maybe we should just save ourselves a lot of trouble and suspense and from now on, whenever we are all introducing ourselves, it should be mandatory that we say, "Hi, I'm ________ and I'm Gay/Straight/Bi/Trans. This would apply especially to aspiring artists. I'm not serious, of course, but when will society stop its gossipy fascination on who is/is not gay?? If I were gay, I think I'd find the whole thing very, very tiresome. And why does every gay up and coming star feel they must make a public announcement about what should be (I would think) a private matter. Is that all that matters about a person? Secondly- and this is definitely a sidenote here, is anyone truly surprised at this announcement? Good for Adam. He's gay. I wish him well in his career. Next topic.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:34 AM on 05/30/2009

I think it is relevant (not specifically Lambert though). The more people clearly "come out" and reveal "hey, I'm gay... and I'm just a normal person" instead of trying to hide it the sooner we can get through this phase with the haters.

I also think that this should be a topic that people can openly talk about rather than strictly "a private matter". Americans et al are sexually repressed and putting sexuality up front is the only way to get past that.
