I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Beck And Craig T Talk About Things

Via the Cajun Boy comes this epic clip of Glenn Beck and Craig T. Nelson. Nelson has a big ol' sad, because no one takes responsibility anymore, so naturally, as a "fiscally responsible grandfather," he's not going to pay taxes or "fund things he refuses to fund." Because whatever happened to education, or firefighters? Not paying taxes will fix that, tout-de-suite. Obviously, this is what all fiscally responsible grandfathers should do, for the future.

Anyway, then he says -- I'd say apropos of nothing if "apropos of nothing" wasn't a good way to describe this entire conversation -- "What happened to society? I go into business, I don't make it, I go bankrupt. I've been on food stamps and welfare, did anybody help me out? No. No. They gave me hope, they gave me encouragement, and they gave me a vision."

Uhm...didn't "they" also "help you out" with WELFARE AND FOOD STAMPS? What? Do you not -- I...but...but -- are you unclear on the concept of -- am I? Are you? Is this supposed...what? Really? Huh?

Am I missing something here? Craig, are you trying to send us a secret message, that the poltergeists are back in your teevee, or something?

[WATCH.]

as for not paying taxes, that is just the crap from those who are stingy. that is a good word for it, i think the bible has a little more illustrative label. why are we here, for ourselves, or for the progress of the human race?
i don't mind being a team player.

i have one major issue with so many of the righties. they seem to often be alcoholics and/or drug addicts (Beck, Limbaugh??).
Can you trust them?

Though not often, I have on more then one occasion found myself in much agreement with Mr. Beck and enjoy is brand of humor. However, this has quite possibly got to be one of the DUMBEST segments of all time! Anyone, running the entire gamut of beliefs, could look through federal and state budgets and find many programs that if they were in charge they would trash. That's exactly why we do live in a republic. If we did, then there wouldn't be any of the programs that we want, because there are people who wouldn't pay for them. You want jails, me too, but I guarantee we'll have a lot less funding for jails if we put it to a vote.

Any program from the dumbest (laser planes), to the smartest (police, firefighters, Medicare...) would be gone if we let individuals decide which to pay for. We're never going to agree with every program funded, but most people if left to themselves couldn't agree with their neighbor on whose turn it is to drive to In & Out let alone what programs they would mutually fund but their share adjusted for differing wealth. I've ranted enough but to end, a little call out to Mr. Beck, if your going to talk about something asinine like this, at least have the respect to your viewers to get the opinion of someone that matters and I should actually be listening to for a intelligent dialogue, aka not some actor.

Only on Fox News could a guy who once pretended to be a coach and a clueless guy, who still pretends to be a political pundit, get together and pretend that they are having a coherent discussion of value to an audience.
The sad reality is that these know-nothing, cry-babies can, rightfully, claim a huge following of "dittoheads" without having to pretend.

They pay you $14k to spend 10 days with Rove and Bolton? I'd almost consider that.

"Glen Beck" and "reason" don't belong in the same sentence.
