Jill Biden dazzled her way through two public events this week: on Tuesday she toured a simulated emergency medical services program at the Community College of Aurora, Colorado in a pink-on-pink ensemble, topped off with a heart-shaped necklace.

Then on Thursday the Second Lady wore turquoise to open the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington. Read more about her appearance (and the winner) here.

I'm not keen on these particular clothes, especially the pink outfit. I've seen her in much nicer duds. However, she herself looks radiant, as always. More power to her!

We have never before in our history had a stunningly beautiful first lady and second lady. We have also never had the two first couples as obviously in love as these are. What a treat for our fractured nation.

Great to have beautiful people in the white house for a change.

I would love to meet her, she seems like the type who is always in a good mood.

Stunning! It is so nice to see a First Lady and Second Lady with some style, rather than the frumpy Bush/Chaney clothes that NOBODY even commented on.

Go, ladies! We're on YOUR side!

Michelle needs to give Jill some tips on fashion, she is too dated and needs to freshen up her look.

They are from 2 different generations. They each have their own style. Why on earth would they want to copy each other? Besides, they are intelligent, educated women. Surely they've got better things to talk about than clothes!

Mrs. Biden is an intelligent, elegant, beautiful and gracious lady.

She 's never looked so good because she looks radiant and so does Joe, at the Sotomayor press announcement. So never mind the designers fashion nonsense. Happiness is the best designer!

With all due respect to Dr. Jill Biden, and with no apologies to anyone else, Joe is hawt ;-)

Fabulous always, particularly at the inagural ball. Her red gown was spectacular.

Wow! Those earrings look like they hurt. Cute colors but she likes to hide her shape, apparently.

the clothes are awful.

I like her clothes. Jill knows what she likes and she wears it. The recent interview of Michelle Obama where the interviewer mentioned that some did not like the clothes she wore. To paraphrase, Mrs. Obama, she said that's fine, but that was a conversation that had nothing to do with what she chose to wore. She did not let public opinion effect what she chose to wear. I LOVED THAT ANSWER. Seems like Jill Biden is doing the same. She wears what she likes. Good for her too!

I agree. Jill Biden and Michelle Obama are bright, educated, strong, caring and beautiful too. These two women are wonderful women for our young girls to look up to. They both represent our country well, Thank You Ladies.

I think Jill Biden looks fabulous, but it's not the clothes. She is not a fashion icon, but her looks are just great by themselves.

Is it just me or does Dr. Biden and the First Lady seem to be dressing towards more of a youthful age? They are attractive women in their own right, but I just wish they would take their style up a notch. Sometimes their look is lacking in distinction. Maybe, I'm just showing my age. Dunno.

They dress to suit their own fashion tastes. Many First and Second Ladies of past administrations allowed their images, and especially their attire, to be decided by someone else. Of course, many people in the spotlight (including First Lady Obama and Mrs. Biden) have image consultants, which is fine, but I think First Lady Obama is simply less influenced by public opinion, especially in matters as personal as style/fashion ( you'll notice she didn't stop going sleeveless after all the fake outrage, she wore another Watanabe argyle sweater even after many people poo-poo'd and criticized the first).

When the situation calls for it, both women "take their style up a notch." The First Lady's Inauguration Day dress/overcoat remains one of my favorites. I also liked the purple /lavender ensemble recently worn in NY.

When it comes to issues as personal as style, you won't please everyone -- nor should you try.

wiseronenow - Michelle Obama dresses for her age. Jill Biden is dressed professionaly here - just boringly. Which is appropriate for her status.
