I haven't watched late night in years, but it will be fun to watch Conan's new transition. I always missed the Richter years.
I haven't watched Conan night in and night out to have an informed opinion and that's is the only way to judge since on most nights all the shows including Carson's were/are average at best. It's that unexpected great show on a random Tuesday with guests that don't look great on paper that you need to see.
Oh it is most definitely an age thing. Conan's writing destroys dinosaurs with 30 year old schticks.
I love Jay Leno and will miss him till the fall when his new show starts. I don't like Conan at all; I guess I will be watching Letterman until Jay's return.
Leno relied on that stupid "jay walking" he needed ignorant and uneducated americans to get a laugh,
Conan.... with Gwenyth Paltrow it will be as boring as taking 10 valiums. When I found out she was on I thought how sad, "was that the best Conan could do for day 1?" Tom Hanks was on Letterman Friday and add Gwenyyth and... zzzzzzzzzzz.
Conan's having Will Ferrell and Pearl Jam as guests - I don't think it will be boring.
Will Ferrell do the Leprechaun again? That shtick has run its course over all these years IMHO.
Don't miss that one:

Huge report, but great.
I'm not acting flippant here, but honestly who watches late night television anymore?? Are there really that many people who still watch.
I don't know. I know I don't. If there's any joke or comment from late night that is really worth listening to it will show up on HuffPo or elsewhere. If I stay up past 11 I watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report -- only 30 minutes for each, both to the point, very funny, insightful and they usually have the same guests on. Let's face it, all of these guests are usually "making the rounds" for a new show, a new book, a new movie, etc.
NBC is going to lose me as a viewer completely. I will continue to watch Law and Order and SVU and Southbound, if that comes back, but come fall it looks like NBC will be a game or reality show at 8 and talk, talk, talk from 10 p.m. on. So that leaves only the 9 o'clock hour. So TNT has some of the best new programming in scripted shows around and I will spend my short viewing time there or NBC's fun cable channel USA, which now has Law and Order Criminal Intent (a show that has seen new life and gotten better since the move), Fox has some decent shows and FX, of course, as must-see "Damages." So what does NBC have to offer but a bunch of talking heads and Americans desperate for money and/or fame on reality and game shows? ABC isn't far behind.
don't worry Conan, it is almost impossible to be worse than that no talent ha-ck Jay Leno
Agreed.
Hey, there's always a guy called Fallon ... ;-)
Fallon always sounds as though he's having a herendous anxiety attack. I'm not knocking the man, it's just that his unease gives me some minor anxiety.
you must be joking. maybe its an age thing. love jay; conan doesn't come close.
