Cool Guys Don't Look At Explosions: Andy Samberg's Tribute To Action Stars (VIDEO)

In addition to hosting the MTV Movie Awards, Andy Samberg shot several digital shorts for the show. The highlight of them was certainly his tribute to action movies and their stars, that featured Samberg, Will Ferrell and J.J. Abrams singing about cool guys who walk away from explosions without looking back.

This was so bad-azzed it is beyond stupid, he has to have chops if Will Ferrell is willing to cameo as Neil Diamond (which was excellent) but he's right, there are too many films like this - I was going to ask where is Iron Man but then I saw he got 'em all

Yes, there's nothing like being bludgeoned to death with Independent/Foreign Films about the toils of life and it's many struggles with relationships. Once in a blue moon, but otherwise, boring as hell.

Well done! I've complained about this stupid movie cliche for years. They left out Pierce Brosnan in "The Matador" doing the same thing. Problem is, you're asking to be killed by shards of debris as you slowly walk away. And if you set off the explosion and don't want to be caught, you're singling yourself out as a suspect by not reacting while everyone else scrambles. So it's not cool, but dumb on so many levels! But that's bad movie cliches. Like people who drive cars and look at their passenger for 10 straight seconds while talking and don't have a wreck (because, in fact, the car is being towed for the shot). Like the streets always being wet at night when it hasn't rained, because the light looks better that way (they hose 'em down before the shot). So many cliches, so little time, but thanks, guys.

He's right. I've never once turned to look at an explosion. I will however turn and grab the woman, who I will kiss passionately as we are sillouhetted (sp?) by fire. Then usually I'll say something funny like, "We'll their all hot under the collar".

So what we need is an action here who walks away, stops, turns, waits for the explosion and then does an end zone dance. If there's more than one they should all high five and hug each other. Or maybe one pulls out a flask and they pass it around watching the fire.

That's funny, but supposedly the whole point of cool guys is they can't be bothered. They are not impressed by anything because they are so cool.

Its also funny because that's a geek's POV. We all think cool guys are personified by being bored with everything and everyone. LMAO!
