Being worn out from the pressure of months' worth of receiving the world's attention is what led Susan Boyle to being hospitalized, says a Britain's Got Talent judge.

Speaking about Boyle on Monday's GMTV morning program in the U.K., Piers Morgan told the show's Kate Garraway: "I spoke to her yesterday for about half an hour and she's fine. She's gone in for some rest. She needs to get away from everyone get away from the show, from the media, the public, and just have a bit of down time to herself."

This is the reason that I don't like reality based shows. It is nothing more than a build up and tearing down in Ms. Boyles' case. And a peering in and meddling in the Jon and Kate stuff. And the making of instant music like American Idol. When are people going to stop being sheep and turn this mess off?

Yeah, right. There's more to this story.

The story is that this is a woman who took care of her mother all her adult life and gave up a lot of her social development. She is blessed with an incredible talent that could take her far if given a chance. The media today is vicious but yes it can make you too. With her isolation and quiet life for so many years, it will take coaching and protection to adjust to the unstopable media quest. I feel for her and hope that she can make the adjustment and enjoy her talent.

What Susan Boyle needs is a lifeline to help her get out of that damned media fishbowl she seemed to be drowning in.

NIce singer. Should be in a Broadway show. I see her playing Gypsy's mother. Although her personality is more like the Bird Lady from Home Alone II.

It will take time for Susan to get used to all of the exposure... she will be fine! I am still very proud of her courage, she is a winner and will be so for years to come. Good luck Susan, I rooting for you!

This is a person who had certain cognitive difficulties as a result of being deprived of oxygen for a brief period when she was born. She had lived most of her life with her parents and after their deaths, she was basically a recluse. Someone should have been looking out for her when her fifteen minutes of fame hit. I have heard that British welfare authorities are looking into how this woman was handled during this entire circus. Personally, I don't think she should have been allowed to be on this show without someone qualified looking out for her.

These shows are for KIDS...young people like the young men who won this competition. They should not be FREAK shows. ...and that is exactly what they made this poor woman out to be. I know someone like Susan, and I hope this young woman is never subject to something like this. She is a sweet, gentle, but vulnerable person and does not deserve such treatment.

I blame the judges entirely for Ms. Boyle's breakdown.

They ridiculed her shamelessly. Then they discovered she did indeed have talent, built her up to destroy her, and she fell apart.

Susan Boyle is very very talented and also very fragile. They should have recognized this. Last week Piers made a comment re: another contestant saying "this is the Best " performance in the entire competition. Amanda also commented on another duo, saying they were the very best, and should win the competition!! Ms. Boyle believed in her mind that the judges deemed her the very BEST, and couldn't understand their betrayal, as she saw it.

I truly hope that one of her family members will take over managing her, and the judges never make a thin dime off Susan. I can't wait to buy her first CD.

Why don't the judges do what they are suppose to do and judge the performances and NOT declare the winner. Isn't the public suppose to decide the winner?????

Susan already signed up with Simon Cowell's company Syco.

Seasoned celebrities have a hard time dealing with the craziness.

How the heck was SHE supposed to?

Her handlers have failed miserably.

"Fame" is a four letter word. Anyone, can quickly go from "famous" to "infamous"; it's always best to keep that in mind.

Fame (especially sudden fame), isn't always, what it's cracked up to be.

what are they talking about, heres a women who was not built for this, she lived her life probably like a recluse, then she shares her gift with A gameshow and her whole life is turned upside down. She cracked from it all as would I. Icant imagine having to be picked apart by millions of people and Im very good looking. She does need a break , a break from all the leeches trying to suck her soul dry. Money is all everyone see's http://movies09.com/nbc-today-show-piers-morgan-susan-boyle-%e2%80%98needs-a-break%e2%80%99.php Piers goes on tv and says shes tired, Yep, tired of the drama that her life has become.

I wonder how a person can cope with the reality of the entertainment industry.
Entertainers are rejected more times than not and constantly barraged with criticism.
Simon Cowell owns the right of this woman's story for a movie and owns her recording contract.
I do hope she has people who will watch out for her interests and watch her closely.
I would hate for this story to end in tragedy.

I can tell you from watching Betty Buckley's and Elaine Paige's performances of "Memories" from "Cats" that Boyle would have had a better chance if she got completely into character and put more emotion into her singing. She should have been in costume. That would have made a big difference and would have gone a very long way. Additionally, she should not have used the same song from Les Miserables and picked a better song to showcase her voice in the final. I think "Memories" would have just been fine.

If she wants to become a professional singer, she has a long way to go to get her voice ready. A good voice teacher would teach her how to use her voice to it's maximum abilities. As it stands now, her voice is not good or professional enough to pursue a serious singing career.

mychagall: When you said "Additionally, she should not have used the same song from Les Miserables and picked a better song to showcase her voice in the final. I think 'Memories' would have just been fine." ---- I agree with you, that she should NOT have used the same song. But when you're also saying, that she should have sung "Memories", are you talking about Barbra Streisands' "Memories" from the movie, "The Way We Were"?

Since "Memory" is from CATS, and "Memories" is from "The Way We Were". I'm just curious.

I think she chose the same song because of it's" I have a dream" content, which was just as powerful at the end as it was in the beginning. Am I the only one who thinks this?

Actually, I have to correct myself on my post below:

"Memories" by Barbra Streisand is actually the song, "The Way We Were", from the movie titled same. Isn't it? (Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong.)

I think the confusion comes in from so many people--- calling the song "Memory" that Susan Boyle sang --- as "Memories".

I apologize for contributing to more confusion.

lol...Yup, you got it. "Memory" is from Cats. "The Way We Were" is the name of the song from the movie of the same name.

"You forgot the bits in the middle where she lost all of her privacy--overnight-- and was stalked by the press"

So she was forced to appear on Larry King?

She could have avoided all this, by simply not appearing on "Britain's Got Talent"

Oh, I agree completely, because, you know, she is clairvoyant and saw all of this coming--including how it would effect her--since late last February. Many talents, that woman has.

"Larry King??" Larry would make anybody crazy?! (I missed have missed that interview.) If you're going to be a guest on TV, give me Craig Ferguson, instead!

Why was she "forced" to appear on Larry King?

But how many people have appeared on Britain's Got Talent that you've never heard of? Appearing on the show wasn't and isn't the issue. If not for the internet and the greed of the show's producers, she'd have been a foot note in the international section of your local paper. Who was last year's winner of Britain's Got Talent? The world has no idea.

And the world would have been just as clueless about Susan had not her over-produced and made-to-be maudlin' video was not posted and then virally distributed.

For the love of God, she had a severe head injury when she was very little. She had problems in school, not just academically, but some emotional problems, too. Considering the fact that she had such a severe brain injury at the time she was forming the emotional part of her brain, having emotionl problems is certainly not unusual.

I would expect that she actually may have experienced some new symptoms. She has never been under this much stress in her life.

I'm glad she did not win because she would have been expected to go on a 6-month publicity junket. She will surely get a nice recroding contract, and she will probably do better in a professional recording studio.

As I have said, her voice isn't really that good. She needs training, intensive singing everyday to learn technique and learn as much new material as possible. Does she even read music?
