Blagojevich: Patti Ate Tarantula For Her Family (WATCH HER EAT IT)

CHICAGO (AP) -- Ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich thinks the public is getting a chance to see who the real Patti Blagojevich is - a mother who's willing to eat a tarantula for her children.

In an interview on WLS Radio's "Don Wade and Roma Morning Show," the former governor on Tuesday said he was "moved" when he saw his wife eat a large, hairy spider on the premiere of NBC's "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!"

He says she ate the unconventional snack because she loves her two young daughters.

Patti Blagojevich has said she replaced her husband on the reality series because her family needs the money. A judge barred Rod Blagojevich from leaving the county to be on the show because he's facing federal corruption charges.

The former governor says he and his daughters watched the show together Monday night.
