McClatchy:
Homemade bombs go off almost every day in Iraq, usually targeting military and police convoys in cities such as Baghdad and Mosul.

I've been out of the loop for a while. Didn't they used to have an army? I mean what, did somebody disband it?
Pretty much yes.
That's one reason we had so much trouble there. We instantly created 300,000 pissed off, unemployed people, with guns.
why use an army when you cannnn.........
HIRE PRIVATE CONTRACTORS TO DO IT!!
DUH!!!!
USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!
It seems pointless to clear land mines when the country is covered with depleted uranium from US weapons. It will be unhealthy for anyone to live there for several thousand years.
Well that's life in Iraq. They should take a bond issue to pay for the clean up.
And what would it need to clean up the depleted uranium from Gulf War #1 and #2?
Sadly, terrorists typically have such a total disregard for human life that leaving land mines and bombs everywhere would not bother them in the least. Don't forget, these are the people who invented suicide bombing where you brainwash a teenager to wrap bombs around themselves and walk into public places and kill as many people as possible, while killing themselves.
