Marcus Epstein's Racist Assault Bruises Buchanan And Tancredo

On July 7, 2007, Marcus Epstein had too much to drink and stumbled onto Georgetown's scenic, shop-lined M Street, walking in no particular direction. At 7:15 p.m., he bumped into a black woman, called her a "nigger," and struck her in the head with an open hand. An off-duty Secret Service agent was watching. Epstein "jogged away," according to the agent's affidavit, and when Epstein was finally chased down, he "continued to flail his arms while being taken into custody."

After this, say Epstein's friends, the then-24-year-old conservative activist radically changed his life. He swore off drinking and started attending meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous. He started treating the bipolar depression that had gone undiagnosed until that run-in with the law. In January 2008 Epstein plea bargained to a charge of simple assault, as part of a settlement that included a letter of apology to his victim and a $1,000 donation to the United Negro College Fund. He will be in court again July 8, but because he met the terms of his settlement, Epstein's employers expect the ordeal to end then and there. Epstein could not be reached for comment on Monday.

He's probably referring to the Snyderman & Rothman survey of 661 members of the Behavioural Genetics & American Psychological Associations in the 1980's. In terms of those who felt group differences were both environmental and hereditary 3 times as many felt this was the case compared to those who felt it was purely environmental. Snyderman & Rothman noted though that the media portrayed the environmental position as the mainstream view.

This man has more than drinking and bipolar problems. Does anyone know the full extent of the case? From what I have seen, the terms seem a bit light. If there are no strict guidelines, then I guess a few friends in high positions and money can go a long way. It seems as though many Republicans, have all type of undiagnosed issues when it comes to the adjudication of the law. This man being of mix heritage (Korean & Jewish) should have a full understanding of bigotry and the consequences of it. As I have said in the past, there are bigots and the practitioners of bigotry around this world. Epstein is but one of these.

This dude is a complete tool...I just read some of his articles and they were not the most well reasoned or written for that matter. You run into people like Epstein a lot in the business world, people who think they know it all and other races are to blame for their personal shortcomings. I mean really, this guy is5'3", with a lisp AND not attractive in the least (he looks like a toad in more recient picks). Most people with physical stature issues overcome them with kindness, but this dude decided to take the other route and seal his own fate. He definitely has some sexual repression issues most likely b/c he hasn't had P since P had him...

I went to school with this kid (William & Mary, class of 05), and not only is he a racist reactionary with a lisp, he's also a damn fool. Late into our college years, the guy shoplifts a box of Oreos from the local Wawa, is fingered by the local [inept and powerhungry] cops, runs off to the sororities, is followed, hides in a "powder room" frantically stuffing the evidence into his mouth and into the toilet -- the officers outside, well aware of what's going on.

Reading about that incident in the following week's "Police Beat," it took a while for us to stop laughing.

Still, hey, any press is good press.... right?

Epstein was interviewed by Cenk Uygur on The Young Turks a few months back and unless he's been on the road to Damascus since that time, Epstein has not change. Mr. Uygur was polite and non-confrontational and this emboldened Epstein to the point that he claimed he had peer-reviewed scientific statistical evidence proving that people of African heritage are inherently less intelligent and more prone to violence than whites, all of which Epstein claimed had been suppressed by the "politically correct liberal media". When asked to name the studies, Epstein said he did not have the information in front of him, but would be glad to email copies of the documentation to Mr. Uygur as soon as possible. These studies were never sent, probably because they do not exist.

Did you watched that clip? I was glue to my tv screen, today on the Chris "Tweetie" Matthews show Lawrence O'donnell (once again) stood up to Path Buchanan and left him feeling like some $20 by the hour motel room; it was priceless!!!!

I laughed hardest when during one of Buchanan's rants about supporting the US auto industry O'Donnell pointed out how he sold his Mercedes when he began his run for the Presidency in 1991. Buchanan's sheepishly laughed.....busted.
