In this image released by RapRadar.com, Eminem, left, and Sacha Baron Cohen, dressed as the character Bruno, pose together on Saturday, May 30, 2009, the day before the MTV Music Awards in California. Enimem told RapRadar.com that the much-talked about stunt, which had the comedian descending from the ceiling from a wire in a scantily clad outfit and landing buttocks up in Eninem's face, was all rehearsed, right down to Eminem's mock disgust. NEW YORK — Eminem says he knew full well what he was about to face at the MTV Movie Awards _ including Sacha Baron Cohen's bare butt.

Enimem told the Web site RapRadar.com that the much-talked about stunt was all rehearsed, right down to Eminem's mock disgust. Says the rapper: "I'm thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it."

Eminem says when he left the show, he went back to his hotel and laughed for three hours, including as he watched the playback.

The rapper calls himself a "big fan" of Baron Cohen, who he said approached him about the gag while he was in Europe.

At Sunday's live show, the comedian descended from the ceiling on a wire in a fake mishap that ended with his bare hindquarters in Eminem's face.

I'm amazed by how many people refuse to believe this was a planned stunt. Are you just afraid to admit you were fooled by their acting. Of course it was planned. The logistics alone of lowering sasha cohen to the right spot would have to be rehearsed. Eminem had plenty of time to move and didn't. His no sense of humor is an act he puts on in just about every public apperance he makes, often jabbing his tounge into his cheek to keep himself from laughing. Are people forgetting that they are both actors who make thier living from making people laugh and that one has a new cd and the other a new movie. Hmmmm. No your right. No way it was a publicity stunt because that would mean that two professional pranksters pulled one over on everyone. All you haters are actually a testament to how good their performance was.

Keep on being amazed. I watched the Eminem/Cohen footage a few times and my intitial impression never changed: Eminem got played and was genuinely angry and embarrassed. There was no tongue in cheek going on. Eminem's initial reaction was to angrily storm out until he later realized he looked even worse by not showing a sense of humor. Hence, all the backpedaling today, with everyone, including an apologetic Cohen, trying to make it all look "planned." What I find interesting is that the video has been removed from the web. If Eminem had planned this with Cohen, and was presumably proud of having fooled everyone, why would the video no longer be viewable online?

haha... uh, right and there were reports that Eminem and Cohen rehearsed the stunt a few days before the awards ceremony. Get over it.

@UsofA "There was no tongue in cheek going on."

Let's hope not.

You are amazed because you don't get it. Eminem is saving face. He was genuinely pissed. There is nothing difficult about pulling off the stunt itself. Those people have assigned sets and everything at these events is tightly controlled. MTV and Baron Cohen's crew planned this out. It's possible Eminem was consulted but not told exactly what would happen, but unlikely

If you knew anything about how Baron Cohen operates, and had ever seen his early work or read how his crew scores interviews with high profile personalities (only to royally embarass them) you'd never believe that they were both in on this. The joke is on Eminem and was designed to make him look like the tantrum throwing homophobe he is. This is classic Ali G/Borat/Bruno humor. Eminem was owned.

He knew about it, but he didn't know nuts close to his mouth was part of the deal, Sacha always pulls a different stunt on a stunt. That's bull. He has no choice to say he knew about nuts ending up at his chin. Think about it...

PLEASE...Eminem is not in on the joke. He was the butt of the joke, or so to speak.
He is trying to save face and appear like he was in some big hoax that fooled everyone.
Instead, he was punked. He tries to appear macho and would never associate with anything that might associate him with gays. His nose was right in Cohen's crack and his mouth was centimeters from Cohen's, um, privacy. There is no way, ever, he would agree to that. NO WAY.

(And this is coming from someone who enjoys Eminem's music)

Spend more time around performers. There really isn't a line for most of them as far as what they wouldn't do for a bit. As someone who has spent their entire life with actors and singers, I feel safe making that statement.
You may enjoy Eminem's music, but unless you know him personally, than you are simply enjoying his work. That does not necessarily provide insight into his psyche.

As always, baron cohen is as funny as a blister.

Go away. Bring Eddie Izzard or some other comedian who is actually funny to the scene.

SBC has as much talent as a comedian as Eminem as a singer.
Read it however you like...

Indeed, that was no stunt on Eminem. Yup. He's soft.

Imagine, that same "stunt" on 50 Cent , Jim Jones, or TI... That headlock was literally "shade". He was "thrilled"? What else is he going to say. This is called recovery -- to save face.

I am angry! I was tricked! Mr. Cohen made a fool of me! And Eminen helped him do it!

Could have fooled me? Which he did!!! I am glad that he is okay with it!!!

he got back to his hotel and laughed for 3 hours he said. Delusional if he thinks people weren't laughing at him.

Oh for the day when someone who knew how to play a real instrument and craft poetry, and came out and mesmerized an audience.

I suppose the world WILL die in nostalgia.

So maybe Bruno is the one who melts in M&Ms mouth, not in his hand?

Well if the need to get publicity by having someone stick their rear all over your face is that great, I think that M&M must be having a meltdown.......yuck

It demonstrates that Em is just as big a show business person as anyone else. His persona is a made up act that has won him acclaim. He is very successful,,,just like Beyonce, Madonna, etc. He simply chose another idea. I think there are really very few real artists in the music business left. I'm willing to hear some examples! Discuss!

Sasha Baron Cohen is great. He constantly makes me laugh. The stunt was great. Eminen is also amazingly talented and I am not fond of the style of music that he performs, however he is indeed talented in my opinion. I can not wait to see the Bruno film, my hope is that it is as ridiculously funny as Borat was.
