Eminem Speaks: 'Thrilled' About Bruno Stunt

NEW YORK — Eminem says he knew full well what he was about to face at the MTV Movie Awards _ including Sacha Baron Cohen's bare butt.

Enimem told the Web site RapRadar.com that the much-talked about stunt was all rehearsed, right down to Eminem's mock disgust. Says the rapper: "I'm thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it."

Eminem says when he left the show, he went back to his hotel and laughed for three hours, including as he watched the playback.

The rapper calls himself a "big fan" of Baron Cohen, who he said approached him about the gag while he was in Europe.

At Sunday's live show, the comedian descended from the ceiling on a wire in a fake mishap that ended with his bare hindquarters in Eminem's face.

Borat made fun of the way Americans stereotype middle easterners, not the middle easterners themselves. I didn't find it all that funny, but I assume Baron Cohen's upcoming movie will continue in that vein, rather than have him suddenly decide simple gay jokes are the funniest thing. Just like how this prank, staged or otherwise, was a joke not about HOMOSEXUALITY, but about HOMOPHOBIA. Pay some attention first, then judge.

I really don't think it was staged. I think Eminem went ballistic and subsequent negotiations with MTV ensued. They then went along with Eminem's story that is was all staged to make him look like a "sport".

Yeah, that's something I wondered about too. For a few days after the show there was nothing. Then a writer says it was staged. Then Eminem says it was. That could have been time for negotiations with part of appeasing the thin-skinned rapper (remember when he got pissed at a freakin' puppet?) is making him sound like part of the joke rather than the "butt" of one.

It was staged! Look at "Bruno"'s right arm right before he gets stuck. He purposely left it out to hit whatever was up there. He was "flapping" the whole time. His right armed just happened to stay extended when that obstruction was right in front of him.

Besides, don't you think Eminem would've moved long before? I mean, he was looking right at him come down on him.

Nice to see celebrities treated with greater respect than the little people that sasha trashes. Actually, that's not what happened. From what I've read, she fell, a few minutes later, all on her own, but claimed the experience of being fighting for the microphone caused her injury. If true, she deserves nothing...

Yes, that poor woman / bingo hostess was savagely beaten, like a scene out of THE WIRE, by no fewer than 3 of Bruno's cameramen. I wonder if they were also dressed like "vulgar homosexuals," as her affidavit puts it. And I sure hope she's got those "brain bleeds" to clot by now!
