Poll: No Clear GOP Frontrunner For 2012 Presidential Race

A new national poll of Republicans suggests that there's no front runner at this extremely early moment in the next race for the White House. Three possible candidates are all bunched at the top of a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Tuesday.

The survey suggests that 22 percent of Republicans would most likely support former Arkansas governor and former GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee for their party's presidential nomination in 2012. Twenty-one percent say they would most likely back Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, with an equal number supporting former Massachusetts governor and former White House hopeful Mitt Romney.

The Republican party is going to be finished if they keep catering to the nuts on the far right who compose their base. Moderates, and the vast majority of Americans are moderates, utterly reject those views and are completely turned off by their vile rhetoric.

How can the GOP think they can win elections solely by appealing to the base? What an astounding lack of common sense.

Hey, good for us though. The less conservative influence in our government the better the future of this country is going to be. The decline of the Republican Party is the best thing that could happen to America. The less influence their archaic and abhorrent views have on our culture, the better off we'll be.

The Repubs need new, unknown candidates.

I remember hearing Babe Buchanan being interviewed, and she talked about how the Republican Party had done everything they could to prevent her brother Pat from running in 2000.

Look at how Rendell and other PA Dems are attempting to dissuade Sestak from challenging Specter.
