What's Your Reaction?

The Federal Bureau of Investigation ignored repeated complaints from an abortion clinic about Scott Roeder, who is suspected of murdering Dr. George Tiller.

Rachel Maddow reported on MSNBC Wednesday night that Roeder targeted a clinic in Kansas City, gluing the doors shut at least four times. One such act occurred the day before Dr. Tiller's murder.

This kind of vandalism is a federal crime under the Freedom of Access to Clinics Entrances (FACE) Act, Maddow said, but when the FBI was notified, they did nothing.

A security guard at the clinic attacked by Roeder said he reported the incidents to the Feds, and he contacted the FBI only a few minutes after the incident on Saturday. He was told that they "probably" couldn't do anything without a grand jury. The FBI confirmed to Maddow that they were notified and had opened up an investigation.

Big Bill O is an accessory to murder and Operation Rescue is a terrorist organization.

As much as I like Rachel Maddow I'm not sure this Tiller thing is a winner for her. There's something that makes me uneasy about late term abortions ...

But apparently nothing makes you queasy about the FBI ignoring right-wing terrorism.and its resulting violence against a courageous doctor who refused to be intimated by these right-wing thugs.

Ms. Maddow is reporting news about the FBI ignoring threats of violence. She is not performing late term abortions.

The right-wing murderer broke the law, several times. No one else did. Get a grip.

i am against the death penalty, but this...makes me wonder. Clearly it's premeditated with intent. AT LEAST he deserves life in prison without parole. That should give him about 25 years to think about his actions.

Scumbags like this do not belong in our society.

Remember how quickly Republicans pissed and moaned, attempting to discredit the report on
right-wing domestic terror groups in the US?

The report, titled "Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment," dated April 7, states that "threats from white supremacist and violent anti-government groups during 2009 have been largely rhetorical and have not indicated plans to carry out violent acts."

Now that I've learned Sarah Palin's superfascinating opinion on this issue, next I can't wait to hear Kate Gosselin's.

The only reason the suspect was ignored by the FBI after multiple violations for which he could (should!) have been arrested that I can think of is an overly cozy relationship between the FBI and local religious/political realities they did not want to offend. As this resulted in death, and did involve terrorism (a supposed priority for enforcement) I think we are entitled to an official explanation perhaps involving disciplinary action if appropriate. And no cover ups or else obstruction of justice/conspiracy charges! Who is the U.S. Attorney involved in these decisions? That could be a key to understanding what happened.

Maddow picked this up from Amy Goodman, who reported it on June 2. George Tiller didn't have to die.

Thank heaven for Rachel M, a real journalist.

She and Keith O are the voices of truth.

Perhaps one day our Republican-minded fellow citizens will finally wake up from the cloud of obfuscation to realize how absolutely bankrupt their 'leaders' really are.

What else would you expect from a Bush controlled Justice Department.

Of course the FBI ignored this. They are too busy tracking down the evil environmentalists hellbent on destroying America through the use of clean water, clean air, and non clearcut forests.

Rachel Maddow is one of the few genuine journalists currently broadcast in the U.S.

What happens to a nation that doesn't enforce its laws? It becomes a rogue state and justice is its first casualty. Dr. Tiller's death was preventable and the result of deliberate inaction by the FBI in Kansas and the Police Department in Wichita. They should be investigated and brought to trial for "depraved indifference." They had responsibilities and refused to honour them by doing their job.

Domestic terrorists do not function in a vacuum: they are nurtured by enabling law enforcement and citizens who turn a blind eye to their activities.

Abortion clinic protestors were enabled under the Bush regime. Bush enjoyed their brand of domestic terrorism.

The simple fact that this guy had been in prison for having bomb making materials in his trunk and got off because the police did not have a warrant should have been more than enough to grab the FBI's attention. Fact is they did not care about and abortion clinic enough to investigate.

Had they arrested him he would more than likely have been held without bail and Dr. Tiller would still be alive.

Rachel Maddow does more real journalism (and with minimal resources!) than anyone else on cable news.
