"Inside The Obama White House" Rates High For NBC

NBC News' two-part special, "Inside the Obama White House," aired Tuesday and Wednesday and performed very well for the network.

The first part, which aired Tuesday night, attracted more than 9.1 million total viewers and won its time period to help lift NBC to first place for the night (the season finale of "Law & Order: SVU" did even better).

Wednesday night, part two attracted 9.0 million total viewers, its biggest overall audience in the 9PM hour since October 2008.

NBC's struggle in the primetime ratings has been well-documented while its news division continues to perform well. For the week of May 18, no NBC primetime show reached as many viewers as "Nightly News with Brian Williams."

The broadcast will air again this Friday, June 5, 8-10 p.m. ET on NBC.

Williams was a bit annoying at times along with some of the 'hip' music they used to try make it seem more like 'the west wing' drama or whatever. The actual behind the scenes footage and candid comments by staff was quite interesting.

I enjoyed all the clips of the Obama 's White House. However, I would like to see more of people's reactions when they come in contact with the Obamas. I love the way people just blowup when they see or meet the POTUS & FLOTUS. Also, I would prefer less commentary. Brian needs to get out of the camera, stop commenting and let the film speak for itself.

Brian Williams talking about coming to the door with a shovel in his hand to meet boys trying to date the girls was the highlight of the show. All done with straight face and comedic timing that BW has come to be known for.

I watched it and enjoyed getting a look at the operations of the White House, west and east wings. At a time when I need to give news a little bit of a break, it was an enjoyable perspective.
