A very moving moment, minus all the damn laughter in the back ground. What in the hell was so damn funny?!

Thank goodness her daddy isn't one of our brave soldiers who needed help and who was denied treatment and committed suicide because of being denied treatment they asked for.

He just got home...the trauma will take a while to set in, and then he will be denied treatment, or will not even seek treatment at all. Lets just bring all the dads and moms home where they belong. Children should not have to go through this either....We can use heavy bombers and a couple of operatives to take out strategic targets.

He's a Master Sargeant, so he's probably been deployed before. He didnt look traumatized in the video.

Our soldiers' families serve our country, too. If you know a military family whose loved one is deployed, please offer your time to asist them with whatever they may need.

That was a gracious thing to say. But from a former soldier's position, I really struggle with the all-inclusive definition of service that is so often portrayed. I don't deny the trepidation that follows the soldier into the field, my family felt it as surely as yours. But it is hardly a service in the same sense.

I just wish someone would come up with a better interpretation. But you are right on the more important issue - support. We all need it in times of trouble.

I'm probably not expressing this very well, and I apologize for that.

It tugged at the heart, I was that little girl when my father would come home after his year out at sea.....it was kind of confusing for a child, and on the other hand a happy time to see my father again after over a year.....it was something that one gets used to. It means more if that father goes out for that period of time and he is in a war zone, not knowing how things would be. Thank you to Air Force Master Sgt. Joseph Myers for his service, to his family and to all the women and men who serve....I thanked a vet
(Murse, a male nurse) @ work today, in memory of the 65th anniversary of the Normandy landings.

This is a video about a little girl who is really happy to see her daddy. That's what love looks like, people. Let's not make everything about politics.

Palemoon my apologies after reading some of the other comments I realize we have some incredibly uptight people here who specialize in making lemons out of lemonade. GDUS and others have you ever been happy in your life?

Palemoon, how much do you charge to haunt a party, lighten up just a bit. This was such a happy tear inducing video, enjoy the incredibly poignant moment this was

This type of thing really tugs at the heart. Yet, I can't also think about the reverse that we never get to see, those fathers who did not get to come home. While we weep tears of joy for those who do return, and hope everyone involved cherishes every lasting moment of it, I can't help but think of the tears of sadness of those who did not return. I guess it goes hand in hand with the subject of war and the cruel realities that it often inflicts upon the souls of all mankind. Yet, I can also imagine the burden on those returning is just as difficult. I'm sure many go through the process of wondering why they came home, rather than one of their buddies.

I'm just glad we get to see these overwhelmingly happy scenes on occasion. It reminds of us what love looks like.

Those who did not return, those who return with a psychological or physical maim, those who stay there in their destroyed disfunctional now fundamentalist country, and the list goes on.

Wars of agression are absurd. And never ever are a solution.

I agree with you, that's what makes the pains all the worse. Knowing that lives were needlessly thrown away simply so some madman could be written about in some history book.
