Get our troops out of Iraq NOW, President Obama. Not a year from now. NOW.

The war has been proven to be a fraud. No WMDs. No Iraq- Al Qaida link. No justification for being in Iraq a DAY, let alone SIX YEARS.

Too bad that some cannot see the humanity aspect of this reunion and try to polticize everything.

Did you think about why this was aired in the first place?

And what about all those children whose fathers and mothers came home in a flag draped coffin? Where was their moment of joy?

Can you not be thankful for the ones that came home alive and feel sorry and empathy for those that didn't? Coldhearted!

I could really be thankful if we actually put a real value on human lives and didn't send our troops into a senseless war based on lies and fabrications. I am most thankful when our military people come home alive..I never said I wasn't. Those are your implied words not mine. Why don't you show a shred of compassion for those who didn't get the chance to see their families. I am not cold hearted, I am just being a realist. I have seen first hand a bunch of body bags laid out on the tarmac in Nam awaiting to be boxed and shipped home to families and that is part of the same reality of this situation now.

Those who were lost do not exactly get equal air time, do they.

Our government should look at this video before they send our men and women out to die!

It doesn't matter. It's all about the money. I mean, we are talking billions here.

This is beautiful... but this poor girl shouldn't need to miss her Daddy like that.
Bring them home.

Yes, bring them all home. Every one. It isn't worth it.

I'm torn here. I really wish that this lovely moment had belonged only to that family. But, I also know that there are a lot of people in this country who need to be reminded that the war has a personal cost. This child has obviously been suffering during her father's absence, and she's one of the lucky ones. I just wish none of this was necessary.

It is so transgressive that a 10-y.o. child's privacy was ... oh hell, I don't even have words for the sorrow this sparks in me. And yet the moment was well-intended.

I don't see how this moment was spoiled one iota just because there happened to be a camera in the room...

Thanks for voicing your feelings. I, too, wished the cameras had started 5 minutes later. Some moments ought to be private. We could have shared their joy after the first hug.

Children are the ones who suffer most during war. They're not responsible for like Cheney and Bin Laden but they're the ones who have to deal with their power games.

What do you think that girl cares about more -- having her father back or the fact the reunion was recorded? Looks to me like she was pretty darn happy, regardless of where the reunion took place or whom was in attendence. It looked like a moment of pure joy for her. Turn down the exploitation rage a few notches and lighten up just a little bit.

No one is refuting the fact that the child was happy at that particular moment. But, what did that moment actually cost that child? How about one year of her life without her father. She is only 10 years old so that amounted to being separated from her father for 1/10th of her entire life so far. See the situation for what it really is and not that bogus shcmaltzy schtick that the media gave you so they could capitalize on that poor girls situation for their ratings. This is exactly what I would expect from Faux news, playing on the viewer's emotions without regard to the real facts or consequences of the situation.

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor

Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait till their judgement day comes

I bet it feels good returning back after killing/raping innocent people in far away land.

That was such a personal moment. Good to see the media was there to exploit it and then thanks to others its now splatter over the internet.

As a Veteran ( 1AD 2/59 ADA) and a teacher I know how much some of my kids (and their Moms) miss their dads. That was a real tear jerker and it really felt a bit shameless in its viewing.

One beautiful moment in an entire year of that child's life without a father. I bet that child would have gladly given up that moment for the year she was without her father.
