Wait, wasn't what the Enquirer did kidnapping? Why are no criminal charges being filed?
People, people, please!! The point is not how Brooke looks - but the fact that she took on that piece of crap the National Enquirer. Good for her!
a little lighter on the eye makeup might help.
I am sorry folks, Brooke is a wonderful person but she is no longer stunning, simi lovely maybe, but no longer stunning.
Arnold. She looks so buff. Thought it was a weight lifter.
Does scientology think female is a pejorative or do many of these posters just not like women?
I for one would like to thank Ms Shields for both her courage before bullies and for the content
of her character.
I am always amused by people who see one bad pic of a famous person and use it to bash that person's looks. Funny.
Or, those of us who SEE her in NYC - as she looks in this photo.
She doesn't look like that in person because she hardly wears any makeup. Everyone who knows Brooke always mentions what a sweet and beautiful lady she is.
I live in Manhattan. I've seen her in person though it's been about two years. Her makeup was undetectable, and she looked very good. She was also gracious.
Are you aware that her mother was an abusive alco.holic?
I agree that this is a very unflattering photo of Brooke. However, I've seen her a lot lately in commercials, as well as Lipstick Jungle and she is, as she has always been, a strikingly beautiful woman. I'd love to see some photos of these trolls that are ripping her apart on this blog.
I agree. Brooke is still an absolutely stunningly beautiful woman. I read her book, "Down Came the Rain," and she is also an excellent writer.
...who neglects her mother.
wow, how low. Although the reporter was a supposed friend of her mother's for over 10 years he should have never done that. Being a national enquirer reporter obviously doesn't require scruples. I would have sued the piss out of the paper and had a judgment placed against them. Any money awarded could have then be given to charity. Make the lawyer do his damn job for once. A settlement is a crappy solution to this incident. I never would have settled if it had been my loved one.
And, as a woman I am sorry to say...bitchie. A whiner...and spoiled publicity hound. No more jeans or makeup/beauty commercials - or bogus TV shows in the wings. So, blowing this story out of proportion, when Mrs. Shields ASKED the reporter she knew for a decade to take her to lunch/shopping - and said reporter got permission from the staff - is unacceptable. Ditto, speaking publicly during this debacle about when she lost her virginity. Desperation anyone? Who cares?
Brooke Shields would be NOTHING were it not for her mother...who is now dependent and lonely. Brooke will have HER turn...because her "career" is on a downward slope - for good reason.
That's a lot of hate for someone you don't even know. You need to seek help.
The "reporters" and the nursing home staff should all be facing criminal charges.
My god, where did this pic come from? She looks like she's about to turn into the Incredible Hulk!
I guess you haven't looked in a mirrow lately
How many mirrors have YOU cracked lately Butch?
I saw Brooke in Manhattan last year, and this photo looks good compared to how she is aging. Genetics may bless you early, but may not last. I was shocked when I saw her because she is still young - and I know women in their 50s who have aged better.
Meowwww! I'll bet you're a real beauty and must have a very happy life to be calling a woman you'll never know and never come close to being as succesfull as a "bitchie, whiny publicity hound". Retract the claws, you'll never be in the same league.
She looks like a man.
The same could be said about your mother
Or your daughter.
I would have preferred to see the National Enquirer "editors" and "reporters" be prosecuted instead.
They couldn't be because Mrs. Shields has known the reporter for a decade - and ASKED to be taken to lunch/shopping. The reporter got PERMISSION from the staff first. Brooke had a hissy fit because she knows her mother is being neglected and lonely in this assisted living facility - not because of lack of quality, but because of lack of family visits. Brooke doesn't want this known.
Come on renatam, you usually make more sense than this.
The woman has dementia, she should not be taken anywhere unless her family gives permission.
The nursing home made a mistake, this shouldn't have happened.
Just out of curiosity, what do you think is an adequate amount of family visits in a case like this one?
