Colleagues Say Tiller Knew Something Was Coming
McClatchy:
Two weeks before Wichita abortion doctor George Tiller was gunned down in his church, he called colleague Susan Hill in North Carolina.

Many of these cases are "fetal demise" where there fetus is a collection of dead cells which pose a risk to the mother's life if not removed.
So, there would never be any "baby" as the anti-choice folks are so fond of saying.
I'm surprised we even have to call treating a case of "fetal demise" an abortion.
The pro-life position, if you are in fact pro-life and not actually anti-choice, would be to protect the LIFE of the mother.
Your first statement is a blatant lie.
The anti-choice people must be very frustrated.
They enabled the worst administration in any living person's memory to accomplish the destruction of our economy and the deaths of a million people and trillions in debt, all for one single issue, and what did they get?
Nothing. Because the GOP only uses them for votes.
They all need to THINK. Think about what leads to abortion, and work to fix those social and educational and economic problems.
Health care for all would do more to prevent abortion than all the murders and protests and intimidation in the world, and more than making it illegal would.
I began getting worried about what ws going to happen after President Obama was invited to speak at Notre Dame and the anti abortion movement went ballkistic over that...we were beginning to feel the tension rising as local folks in wichita were qo=uoted inteh paer. I thin many people wondered if he would get off campus that day alive due to the vehemence. naturally when a movement feels powerless, they are more likely to take things in their won hands and they definitely feel more powerless...They do not want to find common ground on where they can agree because for them, there are no grounds of common agreement. They are afraid of reasonable talk from Presidents who seem to be able to not take a hit in popularity. We know our city will be besieged tomorrow and finally, but too late, law enforcement will be in full force. Rachel Maddow's exposure of the total lack of enforcement during 2001-2008 years brought home the fact that they felt free from censure while the movement kept going . Adding Newt Gingrich to the Catholic wing and his typical convert overkill on issues to prove he is one of them and media's complicity for giving him and his ilk voice has added to the intensity that would build on the anger of the most radical among them. Fear and frustration begets fear and frustration which usually begets violence in the end.
Free speech is one thing. Encouraging murderers on the public airwaves is another.
O'Reilly ought to be on trial.
I hope Tiller's murderer spills his guts on his influences.
Agreed, houseafire. After reading the McClatchy article, this quote, for me, particularly struck home on the debate about on this being just 'free speech' by anti-choice protesters: *begin quote* “There has to be a way to stop this,” said Eleanor Smeal, president of the Feminist Majority Foundation. “This is way beyond freedom of speech. It’s a campaign of terror.” She added: “If you’re going to win by a bullet, fear, intimidation and terror, you no longer have democracy.” *end quote* ...that pretty much says it all, plain and simple...
What good are laws when they aren't investigated or enforced?
But, ya got your rights to spout hate across the airwaves and ya got your second a men dant rights to carry your loaded guns....
Unfortunately, the rest of us seem to be losing a few of our rights....
