Bret Michaels Knocked Down, Injured During Tonys (VIDEO)

NEW YORK -- Bret Michaels ran into some scenery at the Tony Awards.

Michaels, star of the reality show "Rock of Love," took to the stage with his hair-metal band Poison during the telecast's opening production number, featuring performances from the season's Broadway musicals.

They performed "Nothin' But a Good Time" with the cast of "Rock of Ages," and as Michaels exited the stage, a descending set piece smacked him on the head and knocked him _ splat! _ to the ground.

Tonys spokeswoman Christina Stejskal says the rocker "missed his mark." Though it looked it, he did not break his nose. Stejskal did not immediately know the extent of his injury.

"Rock of Ages" celebrates 1980s hair music and features songs by Journey and other bands. It stars Constantine Maroulis as an aspiring rock star.

What a dork! Guess he forgot his timing and where he was supposed to be at the end of the song. I'm not much of a fan of Poison or Bret, he's not my type, but I do hope all he bruised was his ego.

Maybe he didn't have much rehearsal time although the Radio City stage is is absolutely huge and is much bigger than it appeared on TV during this show. If they used less space for the performers than what you actually get during Radio City Shows, I can see where he had a probem trying to get around that set and especially if his reheasal time was short.

LOL!!! "Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered" from "Pal Joey" is a terrific song. Channing, although looking terrific murdered it; she can't sing. If you want to hear it done well, get the DVD of the film "Pal Joey" with Rita Hayworth in the role Channing played and even though Hayworth couldn't sing her vocals were dubbed by someone (Anita something?) who she used for years in her films. She was Larry Kirk's sister, the actor who originated the role of Tony in "West Side Story". The song has been done by other artists too. Do a search at Google. "Pal Hoey is a great show too. The one number that Channning should have had no problem with is "Zip", a song she sings as a former showgirl or stripper singing about stripping. Great fun.
