Don't just boycott the meters, boycott the whole system. Buy as much as you can from Amazon, free shipping and NO sales tax. Do as much of your other shopping outside Chicago and Cook County. Me, every two weeks I drive to a 24-hour Meijer in Indiana where there is no sales tax on food and gas is 40 cents a gallon cheaper than in Chicago. Do I save money? Maybe, maybe not, but the satisfaction I get from keeping money out of the hands of Illinois' crooked politicians more than makes up for the time and effort to do so. Also be sure to let the stores, bars and restaurants you used to visit know why they don't see you any more. Illinois is so corrupt you can't hurt the politicians in the ballot box, but you can still hurt them in the pocket book.

Why would you privatize a source of city income??
I have so far, and will continue boycotting Chicago parking meters.
Not only is the price increase unacceptable but when you leave with time left and a new car pulls in the meter is collecting double until the first receipt runs out.
