I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Stephen Colbert, with a new crewcut, made a cameo appearance from Iraq in high school principal David St. Aubin's commencement speech to the 2009 graduating class of Goodrich High School in Michigan.

During his comments, St. Aubin, who was deployed to Iraq in December, paused to introduce a "special guest."

Colbert jumped out and enthusiastically shouted, "Congratulations, Class of 2009. Stay strong!" before high-fiving St. Aubin.

Stephen Colbert is looking all kinds of sexy with that buzz cut. I say keep it.

I was choked-up and had good-pimples watching and listening to Commander St. Aubin speaking as Principal St. Aubin to the class he hasn't seen in 7 mths. Service to ones country can be done in so many ways and he is able to perform two that are very, very important - educating the next generation while safeguarding all of our freedoms.

Congratulations to him and his students. I wish him all the best and a safe return home.

Oh, and Colbert was Colbert..

Man, do I love Stephen Colbert! Not only is he one of the few people that makes me laugh consistently every night (Jon Stewart is the other) but his visit to Iraq this week is just ten kinds of awesome! It's about time they got some high quality, big names out there to entertain them! Hopefully, his trip will remind all of us that seem to have forgotten that there is still a war going on, and the lives of our soldiers are on the line every day!

I wonder when the right wing blowhards who use the troops to line their pockets (like Limbaugh, Hannity, and O'Reilly) will have half the kejones Colbert does and show up themselves!

Bravo, Mr. Colbert!

NIce clip, but the inane blather of the newsbabe is intolerable, even for a few seconds.

Anyone else think Colbert now looks like Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad?

It's a good look for him, and sends an awesome message... I always wonder when Colbert's momentum will wane, but he always comes out of left field with something completely unexpected... he truly is the man

I think it's great that Colbert is trying to being focus on the troops.

When the war first started, many of us made up boxes of snacks and socks and games, etc. This war has been going on so long now, those who are not related to someone who is fighting can easily forget we still have people over there.

Support our troops! Bring 'em home!

Bob Hope is dead, but his spirit still lives on.

Thank you Stephen. Cutting your hair as a show of solidarity with the troops is an act of dedication that was unexpected, but welcome.

Maybe it was the light nature of the story, but the announcer made me feel like I was a four year old.

They wanted to be sure no one would be confused by covering something coming out of Iraq, as they've seen to more or less erased that coverage (they're not alone, of course).

I'm digging the buzz cut, too. Wonder if this will shame "Papa Bear" into doing something similar.
