Fine, let them do it.
Glad I don't bank with any of them.
Big BIZ crowing about how they don't have control over their quick money lifestyle.
Cool.
I'll make the effort to stay away from them. And educate others on how certain banks should be avoided. Unless of course they make aggressive changes in how they lure customers, and of course conduct business.
Fair is fair.

The government should allow ANY bank that took TARP funds to repay it ass soon as they can. The government needs to get out of running the financial sector. TARP 1 & 2 were a huge mistake. TARP has been a total disaster. Tax payer money going to pay bonuses and the purchase of smaller banks. Pay back the money ASAP and stop this government intrusion into the private sector.

And where are the regulations? Time to set some rules and regulations, otherwise this continues!
I don't see any holes being plugged yet, not in the job market, not with the banks!

What holes do you want to plug in the job market? Should it become illegal to let people go? :-)

They're giving the banks permission to return embezzled money - how gracious.

It would be nice to see them start paying back some of the money.

As long as they give up the backstop protection when they pay off TARP.

And the benefit of that would be what?

I bet there is NO prepayment penalty!

Who cares we know who they are and will go after them for every awful thing they do from NOW until the END!

Such companies as Goldman should be chopped like mortgage derivatives into tiny pieces and sold off.

What a shame we are missing this opportunity for cleaning out the most ruthless and corrupt of all!

Good point.

I never had a home loan with a prepayment penalty. Why would you ever sign such a nonsensical contract? Wouldn't that be seriously stupid?

I think it's time that the government worked for the people. How about issuing cheap loan consolidations for individuals so they can pay off those high rate credit cards with the understanding that all accounts must be closed.
