What's Your Reaction?
Abortions Epicenter

NY Times:

For the first time in years, only a Wichita police car has been waiting outside the abortion clinic of Dr. George R. Tiller, who was shot to death a week ago. Gone are the trucks bearing enormous images of bloody fetuses, the signs offering the home addresses of clinic workers, the crowd of protesters yelling to women as they enter.

Over almost 20 years, a vocal, diverse constellation of anti-abortion forces has grown up in this conservative city with an intensity rarely seen elsewhere, converging around Dr. Tiller's practice. With his death, its future suddenly seems uncertain, too.

When womens lives are threatened on their way to get an ab0rtion...

the terr-rists win.

When clinics are closed because the ter-rists succeeded...

Mission Accomplished.

It's obvious...because of the threat on womens lives and health...
we need heavy support from TAXPAYER DOLLARS to provide "Safe Clinics" for women.
Whatever it takes!
It's the Anti-Choicers that will make this more expensive for all of us!

It is a systematic and long term terrorist assault on reproductive health care!

The terrorists are winning. Even now, a terror attack is not being investigated as one.

As a Wichita not of the staunch religious conservative type, I can only say"Good Riddance" to the protesters and hopefully Operation Rescue. Thirty years of mostly men screaming about not only abortion but any kind of birth control, as they believe all are abortificents, has been enough. Their anti women view has led to numerous other crimes against women. We have and enough of heinous crimes being committed in our midst.

What a bunch of liars. They're just upset that the assassination was not well-received, and now they're going to be investigated for connections.

Leave it alone and mind your own business...

Why is that what is always yelled before they make it my business...

I am a smoker and i actually had a 215 pound 8th grader tell me that smoking was bad for me...while she was eating a bag of Fritos...anit that a b*tch!!!
My kids are going to go to schoola dn come home one day and call me a drug addict because i like to smoke a Kool after dinner...but, shhh... dont be talking about the women that are going to have the "legal" abortions because they dont want to be bothered, or are too young, or dont have the time, or cant afford, or dont have the support of the father, or ...whatever!!!

America needs to get its priorities straight.....If you cared more about the living that trying to make sure you get to decide who gets to be that way, maybe there would be less people getting those "legal" abortions...

Scott P. Roeder threatens that many more such attacks are planned across the country, attacks that are designed to ter.rorize abortion seekers and clinics.

Since the right wing advocates tor.ture, perhaps we should water*board Roeder, domestic ter.rorist for information that would thwart the planned at.tacks.

(Whether here or abroad, isn't it Interesting how ter.ror and self-righteousness go hand-in-hand .)

I've heard that often, asked it myself as well.
Response from the so-called christian right, pro-life, torture-the-brown-people advocates?
A thundering silence.

A couple of friends are at a house (Man A and Man B. Man A pours gas all around the house. Man B hands a pack of matches to him. Man A lights match and throws it on house. Man B did not light the fire, encourage Man A or say anything or do anything to stop Man A. Even so, should he not also be charged? I mean he did provide the means for Man A to do it.

These people might not have pulled the tr!gger, but they sure did provide the verbal ammunition for this guy to do what he did. They are all just as guilty in my book.

Posters here seem to be saying that the people who protest abortion are somehow responsible for the shooting of the abortionist Tiller.

I suppose that makes some of YOU responsible for the shooting of the young military recruiter then.

Just for the record, I don't think so, but by your logic, it would be so.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:36 PM on 06/08/2009

War protesters weren't advocating killing the recruiters or using lies about what they were doing nor harrasing their family members, nor harrasing those going to the recruiting stations.

Huge differance.

Well, your analogy doesn't really fit in this case.

Anti-war protesters do not form around one soldier's house with dead civilians pictured on placards shouting "Ki.ller". Nor is there an organization (such as Operation Rescue) within the anti-war protesters that tracks the movement of one single soldier calling it a 'Watch'. There is also no web site (to my knowledge) that places the pictures of the ki.llers of soldiers on a 'Heroes Wall'.

The anti-choice terrorists are complicit in so far as they encourage the religiously deluded by supplying the supposed 'justification' for these heinous acts.

Nor do they throw jars of fake blood, or mangled limbs on those who choose (there's that pesky little word again) to enlist in the military.
Nor does the liberal equivalent of glenn, bill, sean, lou, michelle, michelle, sarah bang the drum night after night, week after week, month after month calling recruiters catchy names like....oh, I don't know.....bush's hit squad, maybe?
Or, Muslim-murderers.

They went home to wash the blood off their hands, perhaps consumed with the thought that their very words and actions led to a man’s death , afraid that they will be judged accordingly not by their peers but a higher source .

AGAIN...i am not making a religious statement, you are.
I call it what it is...the killing of a innocent human life...you can make it symantics, so you can feel better and not let it bother you...
I have stated before and i will state again, "LEGAL" does not make it right...
You can blame the religious groups cuz it makes you feel better...but i am not a part of any religious group. I am a father, plain and simple. I watched for 9 months as my sons grew inside their mother, felt them move, i was there when they were both born...
I think abortion is nothing more than another convienience like fast food, alcohol and cigarettes that America have made themselves comfortable with. The only problem is that America is not that comfortable with it. It has been force fed to us...i think that was wishful thinking that Americans would accept the killing of the unborn when it was passed, and it is wishful thinking now.

No, as i stated in an earlier post...I see the two things as completely serperate issues and trying to link them is ridiculous.

Killing of an unborn child for convienience is morally wrong...Legal or not.

People like you are only pro-life until the baby is born. After that, you're pro-death penalty, pro-war, anti-health care, anti-education.

You only care about these kids while they're in the womb.

I am very pro life...
i am not pro war, but i understand that talking is not the only option. It should be an option, but it can not be the only one.
i am totally not anti health care. I work in the health care field and think the the country is being fed a bunch of "pie in the sky" figures regarding heath care, and i think it is going to do more harm than good.
and i am totally for the best education being given by the best educators, which means a total overhaul of the public school system...if public schools are good enough for my kids, then they should be good enough for the Presidents too right?
The fact that you made all these assumptions about me because i dont think abortions is right...shows your frame of mind not mine.

And if one of your sons had died as a fetus inutero and her body was not spontaneously aborting it(miscarriage) or would be told your wife would die giving birth, you would have then chosen to have your wife suffer?? Or would you and your wife discussed this and made a choice that best benefitted your family and circumstance. If one of these situations happens I'm sure you would like to make that decision and not have someone else make it for you. I am very interested in your response since neither case fits your rape or incest only catagory.

But if the child died in utero, then he was no longer a living being...the argument again is therefore moot. I am against abortion that destroys a living, growing, innocent being.
My wife and i had two miscarriages, then a healty baby boy...two more miscarriages and then our newborn.
We had the discussion several times what ;we would do in certain circumstances, and she was steadfast in her resolve that she would never destroy something that we were blessed to have been given. Her resolve made me understand that you have to stand up for those who can not stand up for themselves. There has to be a line that as a civilized country you will not cross, and the slaughter of innocent children should be that line you dont cross.

One thing you don't acknowledge is that the creation of a fetus does not guarantee it will be born healthy and free of any deformities AND it will not threaten the life of the mother who carries it.

but now we are on to what happens after the child is born...
what if he is not the future president, or a doctor, or a lawyer...what if he has ADD, or asthma... is it ok to kill them then?
The argument does not hold water, because it is offering up resoning behind the killing of unborn children when the only reason is convieneince.

"I think abortion is nothing more than...."
Fine. And you and your wife have the personal freedom to NOT have an abortion. That still doesn't give you, or your wife, the right to say what I, or anyone else can't do.

"...another convienience like fast food, alcohol and cigarettes that America have made themselves comfortable with."
As you sit cozy in your smug self-righteousness blithely tossing about simplistic platitudes, think for a moment of the girl-child raped by a perverted adult.
Or an adult woman carrying a dead fetus, and no they do not necessarily deliver. How would YOU feel about your wife carrying a dead baby around inside her for another 2-4-6-12 weeks?
And if that is not enough for you to consider minding your business, consider my family-party analogy posted earlier.

If you planned an event for your family, how would you react if I, not only showed up uninvited and demanded entry, but offered critiques and opinions on the guest list, the food, the venue etc?
If you would become indignant at my blatant disrespect over something as benign as a family party, why do you believe you are relevant for something as personal, private, and painful as a woman's decison to have an abortion?

Whether you agree with it or not, abortion is legal and the ONLY place your opinion matters is in YOUR life.
