I SAW A PULLED BACK VERSION OF THIS, IT SHOWS THE CROWD
SOMETHING HAPPENED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THEM, A FEW PEOPLE IN THE AUDIENCE WERE LOOKING IN THAT DIRECTION AND LOOKING INTENTLY

It doesn't even look like MO's gaze is on Carla Bruni. It looks like she is looking behind her, what was back there? I sure would like to see the rest of that shot.

I don't like this story.........the only reason I can think of to put a story like this out is to cause trouble.........how the heck do we have ANY idea as to what she is thinking..........why didn't you ask if we thought she was thinking about the press who takes things out of context to hurt her!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It used to be that only publications like the National Enquirer, used freeze frame shots to make it appear that someone or something was one thing when it was actually another. I would imagine that Mrs. Obama is the victim of a freeze frame attack here and nothing more.

chitown8....................Thank-You for those pictures. Looking at that last picture, that is were that so call stink eye picture come from. And looking at your pictures, it in no way seem as bad as the stink eye picture. If that stink eye photo come from the Drudge, don't rule out them doctoring the photo.

I feel for the First Lady, you better have thick skin to put yourself out there like this. Because people will take something they know nothing about and try to turn it into something else. Specially the Haters, and Huffington Post. The two First Ladies with their families had lunch together Monday. So I don't think Mrs. Obama was giving Carla the stink eye. As many pictures which are being taken of the First Couple, you're not going to be smiling ALL the time. They could caught you at the wrong time, thinking or looking at something, or whatever. All I am going to say is, I want everyone to know that I am still proud of my First Lady, Michelle Obama. The same way they stick up for that Sarah Palin, I will stick up for Mrs. Obama.

Well said, from another "old school" baby boomer. My mom used to give me and my siblings "the look" when we were acting up in public or in someone's house. That cutting stare would freeze us in our tracks to stop whatever we were doing because we knew that an @$$-whupping would probably come next! :-)

I don't like manipulations like these and I'm very conservative - MO is not a model, she looks pretty normal and I guess most of us are not models too

Michelle is clearly doing her best and this is fine with me, she's no Jackie, so what...

however media are not doing best service constantly admiring anything Michelle - it only brings to the attention reasons why she's NOT perfect

I take a lot of candid pictures of people. Usually, I have the camera set for multiple pictures (3/sec). If the person is talking or doing almost anything while the picture sequence is obtained, each picture will have a different facial expression, many of which look very strange, while others in the same sequence look perfectly normal. You would have to look a video tape or film to see if Michelle's expression was showing anger; there is not enough evidence here.

The opreative word is CANDID. People can make all kinds of faces without realizing it. Always posing for a camera is NOT NATURAL. This is a contemplative expression on her face. Gawd I can't believe I'm even discussing this!
