Perhaps they should make prostitution legal but segregate it much like the Netherlands
and same for booze. Dunno do they allow gambling?

This is just proof that people like fun. It may or may not be the kind of fun I like, but let's face facts, prostitution has been around as long as alcohol. People want both or they would not be around now.

The zealots are trying to stop humans from being human. What a waste of time, we always find a way to do what we want, no matter what the law says.

"The zealots are trying to stop humans from being human. What a waste of time, we always find a way to do what we want, no matter what the law says."

Actually, what people should be trying to do is end the trafficking and exploitation of the Thai and Chinese girls that the article refers to. If trying to stop girls from being exploited and trafficked around the world is a waste of time then we might as well give up any type of law enforcement or legal intervention. If you simply substitute the word slavery in for the word prostitution in your sentence - "It may or may not be the kind of fun I like, but let's face facts, prostitution has been around as long as alcohol" - I'd hope that you would change your opinion and agree that fighting that evil is the right thing to do, even if slavery has been around a long, long time.

I thank the "zealots" who are trying to stop humans from exploiting other humans. That seems to me to be the highest form of human nature, something that should be applauded. If we find a way to do whatever we want regardless of what the law says, we should be stopped when that law is there to defend the weak and the vulnerable. If rescuing these Thai and Chinese girls takes shutting down the Brothel of the Gulf, then do it.

I certainly do not believe in forced anything, I live in the USA. But history indicates that the human animal is just not nice much of the time.

Yes we are better off than we were even 100 years ago, but in many ways we are still as ugly as the humans who used other humans as torches about 2,000 years ago.

I would love to see all the evil of the world vanish and never be seen again. But reality dictates that human trafficking, the desire to feel things we don't naturally feel, and much more will continue.
