China is planning a vast increase in its use of wind and solar power over the next decade and believes it can match Europe by 2020, producing a fifth of its energy needs from renewable sources, a senior Chinese official said yesterday.

If the Chinese say so, I actually believe them. We bicker... they act. Guess who is going to win this one?
This will finally be the alarm bell that shakes the boogers from they eyes of the sleeping masses in the US. When they finally realize that China will become energy self sufficient with renewables before we will, they MAY support government efforts to put the infrastructure into place to make it possible to compete with the Chinese in this endeavor. Maybe.
Once again we see how the far right is trying to destroy America and it's future.
They whine and cry about persuing renewable energy, claiming it will "ruin America's economy"... and yet the entire world is working on renewable energy.
Just like conservatives destroyed the US auto industry by having it focus on huge gas guzzling SUVs, so too they want to destroy America's energy industry with their fraud-based, Enron-style policies.
The best part is their claim to be against going green to protect their freedom. Heh. As if! It's really just a call to reject social responsibility, a call to remain stupid and angry and disinterested in world affairs. If you fall for it, you become a good drone for their shadow cause.... keeping the top few in power and money. It's worked for a very long time. Finally their game is coming to a close. Our survival depends on it ending.
More and more I'm finding that the freedom the right is afraid of losing is basically the freedom not to grow up.
The far right much prefers financing terrorists one gallon at a time.

WHY? we do not travel enough but dependent on media...
who writes what people want to hear...
