I thought that Jehovah's Witnesses can donate and reuse their own blood for surgeries. They can then use their own blood, just not someone else's. Why wouldn't he do that?
You're exactly right. This doesn't make total sense.
Perhaps he's a little afraid of the surgery also. He should talk to some people who've had the surgery.
I hope he goes ahead and has it done. My friend had a knee replacement, but didn't follow through with the exercises; very important to do that. She wound up having to use a walker.. Never really recuperated. Good luck to you, Prince.. Do it!!

Isn't this the same surgery Steve Perry (former lead singer of Journey), was so reluctant to have, but finally gave into it, and had the surgery?

Prince is being silly. He is going to regret not having the surgery now. My mother-in law is in her sixties and had the double hip replacement surgery last year. She feels wonderful now. She only wishes that she had been able to do it when she was younger because that would have knocked off years of unneeded pain. The recovery is also faster when the patient is younger.

I always thought Prince was intelligent. Surely he can arrange to store his own blood in the event he needs a transfusion. Now if he's that blinded by his religious beliefs to think that storing of his own blood is a "transfusion", then he's not only a "slave" to his former recording label but to his religion.
He'll be singing purple occult rain in his purple, pimped-out wheelchair.
