Conan's Twitter Tracker: Jessica Simpson's OMG Moment, Complete The Tweet (VIDEO)

Conan O'Brien hate Twitter--or at least he does a convincing job of pretending to on his show each week. Conan's "Twitter Tracker" segment exposes the inanity of the twitterverse by condensing the 140-character world even further.

According to Conan's scary yet powerful Twitter Tracker voice, you can't stop the tweets and all of the on the "Tonight Show" are solid gold, like the one he shows from Jessica Simpson about breaking a heel or the one from Karl Lagerfeld about his new car.

It seems the more Conan resists this microblogging trend, the more insistent the Twitter Tracker becomes--using pyrotechnics and animal cruelty to ensure Twitter's dominance.

Wow, way to be topical, Conan. This might have been funny a year ago - but probably not. The older viewers of the Tonight Show probably don't get it anyway, and it certainly isn't going to draw in anyone under 35.

Trying to "mainstream" Conan for the earlier time slot as watered down what was already too tame. He used to have at least a couple of chuckles per show, maybe one genuine guffaw per week, but in trying to be "bigger" and live up to some notion of a standard set by his Tonight show predecessors, he's worse, not better. It isn't funny (with this waste of 5 minutes as a perfect example) and WAY boring now. Goodnight, Tonight. I wonder what Letterman is up to...
